How do I deal with transphobia? I keep looking for trans positivity videos on youtube and all I find is people who regret transitioning and other negative stuff. Which makes me really doubt if being trans is ok or not.
Being trans is most certainly okay! Of course, there will always be people who are not okay with it, but there will also always be people who are okay with trans people and fully support us and love us for who we are.
When it comes to dealing with transphobia there are a bunch of different ways you can go about it. I find that, for me, the best way to deal with it is to surround yourself with people who love and respect you for who you are. This can be easier said then done. Especially if a person is not out. (I don’t know whether or not you are.)
Another way to deal with it is to just ignore it. You know yourself better then anyone. You know whether or not you are trans and how that effects your life. Transphobic people will never know half of what you are going through. And people constantly oppose human rights and human happiness. Transphobic people have just decided to target trans people with their hate, like sadly so many other groups are targeted without reason.
Some people also find that learning more about trans people can help them deal with transphobia. This can be either through getting to know other trans people, learning information about trans people, or by doing things such as checking out trans people on Youtube. When people have more knowledge about other people (and less ignorance) they often find that they have more empathy for those people. This can help you normalize what being trans means for you and help you into a more positive mindset, which can help combat the transphobia.
Also, people who are religious or who come from religious families might find that turning to supportive religious groups can help them combat transphobia that they have to deal with.
As for finding trans positivity, you can always look through this blog for trans positivity posts. However, if Youtube is more your thing, I also know where to find some trans positivity there.

Okay so I have heard about human pack bonding and stuff but what about other animals bonding to humans. There is a startling amount of interspecies cooperation that we’ve cultivated over the years. There are stories all of the time about dogs, cats, pigs, and other animals saving their owners lives!
Let us also not forget how we present our offspring to these tiny little predators and the predators often adopt them and protect them. Like there are pictures of newborn me being protected from a thunderstorm by our family golden retriever who has since passed.
Also cats bring us rats and birds and shit because they think that we will starve and this is their way of feeding us. Along with attacking our hands when we go to pet their tummies. They treat us like giant, dumb, long-lived kittens that pull food out of thin air.
Even animals that aren’t our pets like dolphins, shady sexual deviants that they are, will attack sharks for humans. They will literally gang up on a huge terrifying predator to defend their strange friend who shouldn’t be in the water.
Elephants as well have saved human lives as well. During that huge tsunami in Thailand during the early 2000s that killed a shit ton of people. Guess how people avoided that? The tourists on the elephants were taken by their large friends to the mountains.
Like the whole human packbonding with everything is not something unique to them guys.
People, please be careful. There are also people tracking children and people and putting bids on them based on their profile pictures on whatsapp, tracking and kidnapping them. Especially young children, so please be cautious, especially parents who have their children as their profile pictures.

When you go to a haunted house, it may seem like you’re being funny by trying to scare the actors or jump out at them when you go through a second time, but guess what? ITS NOT FUNNY.
You pay us to scare you. It is your choice to go, so don’t fucking go through if you’re going to ignore the rules and get too close to the actors as a ‘joke’.
These bruises happened because over the course of 4 hours, several people ignored the instructions that CLEARLY stated that they were to wait in the front room until told otherwise. Rather than listen, they ran into the next room and slammed into me- effectively throwing me into the wall. This didn’t only happen once. It happened ten times at LEAST.
Then we had this asshole who thought that once I ‘died’ for the haunt, he could pretend to kick me to see if I’d moved. I, being used to people abusing me- jumped back and slammed my head into the concrete wall.
YOU ARE NOT FUNNY BY BEING RUDE AT A HAUNTED HOUSE. WE ARE PAID ACTORS THAT YOU CHOOSE TO COME AND SEE PERFORM. YOU PAY US TO SCARE THE SHIT OUT OF YOU, SO DONT HIT US WHEN WE DO

I work at a Haunted House every October, and have been for the past few years. Our house in particular is staffed by Volunteer workers who are either earning credits for Graduation, or people who know the Family that owns the haunted attraction. In our City, we’re one of two Haunted Houses, so while we open in late September, we tend to get incredibly busy during the month of October and often work from 6pm until 2, 3am on weekends.
We do not get paid to help out. Due to our location, we get a lot of drunk guys coming through, and a lot of ‘funny’ teenagers. In my several years working there, I’ve seen Actors get grabbed and thrown, stomped on, kicked, bitten, everything. A lot of the Actors at this attraction are young teenagers, Middle and Secondary School students, so this kind of abuse is terrifying and potentially emotionally scarring.
There’s a position half-way through the house we call ‘Psych Ward’, and it’s essentially a jump scare. The scare is a corner-room, boxed in with walls and broken windows, that the Actor pops out of and shouts and taunts the people going through. October, 2012, a couple were going through the Psych Ward corner and the scare went off as per usual. The girlfriend of this couple got very startled but laughed it off and continued on. The boyfriend, however, back-tracked and went up to the broken window and punched the Actor in the face for scaring his girlfriend. The Actor, who I’m going to call Tracy, had a black eye for a good two weeks solid and the couple had to be escorted out of the house and were banned from the property. Ever since we’ve ruled that Veteran Actors (someone who’s been there for 3+ years) are the only ones allowed in this particular Scaring Spot.
He paid to get scared and then got violent when we delivered.
There are so many stories I can tell of ignorant customers banging back on scares and injuring the Actors inside, grabbing props from the actors and hurting them with it, destroying props because they thought it would be ‘funny’.
I just want to raise awareness that the ACTORS ARE STILL PEOPLE. We’re instructed to get the best kind of scare out of you, sometimes with no pay at all (like this particular attraction), so please respect our work.
We wouldn’t come to your job, mock you, and push you around trying to be ‘funny’. Don’t come to our job and do that to us!

I got in trouble for breaking character to tell him to fucking stop.
Ive been hit so many times this season it has left cuts and bruises. Back in 2015 I was fucking choked and dragged behind a wagon because a lady was drunk and her son had to pry her hands off me because IM NOT ALLOWED TO TOUCH YOU OR FIGHT BACK.
Most recently, a customer groped my breasts and twisted my fucking nipples. Apparently, she did it to AT LEAST twenty other actors.
THAT IS SEXUAL ASSAULT YOU ASSHOLES. ITS NOT OKAY.
Most recently a customer fucking kicked me and sent me to the goddamned hospital.

If your family or friend(s) force you into a haunting, be upfront as best you can and tell actors as they come up “please do not scare me i am too anxious / scared” and 9.99/10 times we will listen and leave you alone. just communicate with us even though we most often cannot communicate back.

I don’t even do haunted houses (I’m one of those aforementioned anxious people) but boosting the signal because this is seriously not cool.
Thank you. Since middle school I’ve been volunteering at a haunted house. Everyone who works there (well volunteers there) is from middle school to high school. And every year someone tries to hurt or yell at one of the volunteers for scaring people.
I’ve had people get in my personal space to scare me just for ‘fun’. In 8th grade, a grown 50-60 year old man got up in my face and shouted, just to attempt to scare me. I was a fucking child. That shit isn’t right. My (no longer) friend literally has been smacked by a mother who didn’t want her to scare her little kids. The rule for our haunted house is no kids under 6-8 allowed, and no strollers for kids at all. Every year people try to break that rule and then attempt to hurt or scare the volunteers for scaring the kids.
People don’t get to abuse actors, verbally or physically. Let me repeat, middle - high school volunteers. We were/are children/teenagers. Don’t abuse us. Don’t abuse anyone. Even adults. It’s an awful thing to do and it’s scary to think about how willing people are to hurt volunteers.

So I saw a parent friend on Facebook talk about some really *weird* scenes involving the main character, an undercover police dog named Max, having to have his private parts touched by different characters on multiple occasions. Now, in context, this is because he’s posing as a show dog so he needs to be comfortable with touching. But the way the movie handles this goes from just weird to pretty f***ing dangerous.
Again, tw for this next part (and spoilers too, I guess, if you still want to see this disaster). The following are quotes from IMDB:
“In order to be able to compete in the dog show, Max must get used to his private parts being touched. Frank tries to get Max okay with him touching him without snapping at him or later on, the judges. Max is adviced to get into his “zen place” to cope and make it through being touched.”
“During the competition, Max goes to his “zen place” which includes dancing with his partner, fireworks, and flowers. He is able to get through the touching of the private parts phase of the competition.”
Now, this is literally how pedophiles groom their victims. Also, in this movie, Max is told that in order to be successful, be good, not fail, he needs to just accept someone touching him even though he’s uncomfortable and is encouraged to just not think about it. Again, this is a kids movie directed at kids. In the end of movie, as seen in the second quote above, Max is touched by a stranger, but the movie is saying “but it’s okay though because he went to his happy place and thought about flowers, and it was over before he knew it!”
I know some people will read this and say I’m overreacting and that it’s just a movie, but kids pick up on this message and god forbid if they’re ever in a situation with an adult who tells them to go to a “zen place” while they get fondled, they might not fight back or tell their parents! This message really is dangerous!
