Far off in the bending sky was the pearly light; and she felt the largeness of the world and the manifold wakings of men to labor and endurance. She was a part of that involuntary, palpitating life, and could neither look out on it from her luxurious shelter as a mere spectator, nor hide her eyes in selfish complaining.

imagine finding the woman of your dreams who is both exactly your type physically and can engage you in effortless badinage and seems to be really into you. but then when you invite her for a night on the town she asks if there are gonna be dudes there and you’re just like ā€œno.ā€ and THEN she hits on your brother all night, relentlessly, until you just decide to retire early. and nothing even happens between her and your brother because he already has a girlfriend but she nonetheless confuses him so much that after she finally takes the hint and leaves he starts to cry. and meanwhile you are single and into her and want to fuck her so bad it makes you look stupid, and normally you’ve never had a problem getting anyone you want, so the fact that she tried to fuck your brother is even more devastating to you personally than you ever could’ve imagined. well this all happened to my buddy katy letterkenny

omg yes I love g5e.... I just saw that it’s on netflix now and I’m like holy shit I need to catch up (didn’t know s3 was even out lol).. I knew she was funny bc her music is hilarious but she’s also so charismatic and great in a sitcom dynamic. she and renee elise goldsberry have truly insane chemistry like they should be fucking nasty. highly underrated show

victor hugo was so funny for calling out Ć©mile zola for being a bad leftist bc he wasn’t sufficiently didactic in his novels. bc like. there is a broader conversation to be had about the function of art as an ideological/moralizing/instructive tool and what kinds of ideologies actually underpin that belief, but also. zola literally called the function of his novels morality in action, like bro. i think he agrees with u

Generic Medieval Fantasyā„¢ role reversal where the royal chancellor is a jocular goofball with a strange preoccupation with dad-joke-level puns and the royal jester is just intensely sinister in ways that only outsiders ever seem to notice.

is the jester even funny or do they simply jingle ominously

The king thinks they're hilarious.

the fact that chilchuck and miki kaoru both have big round eyes and precious baby boy haircuts is so fucking funny to me btw. putting chilchuck in the sunlit garden. putting chilchuck at a grand piano. putting chilchuck on the fencing team. he would unionize the student council and they’d go on strike until akio agrees to compensate them for their exploited labor. putting miki in the consumption dungeon. he dies instantly.

nyt connections puzzles are all either A. easy as hell or B. will have the last two categories be like "colloquial names in the mining trade for the mineral 'galactonite'" and "common visual and thematic elements featured Ingmar Bergman's unreleased short films 'The Wages of Sin' and 'From Beyond the Mist', both of which were only screened once at a film festival in a small village 100 km north of Stockholm in 1957"
