living my middle school self’s dream of reposting things on this hell site

help!! i am doing my first actual cosplay this year and i have no idea what im doing.

issue #1:

i am doing a gwen stacy cosplay but i don’t know what websites are reputable for suits. i have a basic understanding of handsewing and have friends to help me tailor any parts that may need it but i just don’t know where to order from.

issue #2:

what are the best options for foot wear?? i’ve heard of “foot pads” but i can’t find them anywhere. i am also okay with just ordering converse but im not sure which color would suit gwen best (although i guess that’s up to personal preference)

lastly, any basic cosplaying tips, advice, or tricks would be greatly appreciated :)

Whoever needs to hear this. Please know.

"Closed at 6pm" does not mean "The entry door locks up at 6, but if you're already inside you can keep on shopping."

It means, "you should be finished and out of the store at 6pm."

This is not up for debate

This is just how things work

I, a hearing person who likes subtitles just as a preference, shouldn't have to read a subtitle that's obvious nonsense, go back a couple seconds, and listen again in order to figure out what's going on. An accessibility feature should not be the most half-assed part of a professionally made production. Scripted media has absolutely no excuse for not having subtitles or having subtitles that aren't perfectly verbatim. Professional captioning services should be ashamed of the shoddy work that they put out. Captions should be treated as a part of the production, just like filming, editing, audio balancing, etc - and anything that releases with missing or bad captions should be seen as unfinished
