does hermitcraft tend to do better than some other smps? yes, it already has lgbt, trans, and disabled players on there. it's also in a somewhat unique situation where by virtue of being family-friendly and (in many cases) appealing to children the hermits are unlikely to discuss politics or make more personal comments so we don't actually know many of their views, which unfortunately opens up a space for bigots to seep in. you only have to look at the replies of support under xisuma or doc's more political discussions. particularly when they apologise.

popular mcyt is very cishet white male focused, but also extremely white, and when there is a certain threshold of popularity and need for chemistry i can understand that things don't always work out but i can't pretend that it doesn't make me a little sad that in a server with 27 members only one of them (as far as we know) is nonwhite (bdubs, assyrian), and even then many many people are unaware of that and regularly whitewash him in fanart or discussions.

Something sooooo fascinating about how so many hermits are choosing “punk” themes this season, in the same season Grian is running this bureaucracy system that’s already starting to annoy people with its intentional convoluted nature to get him out of doing work. It’s not common that base design ideas influence “roleplay” on hermitcraft at all, but… They’re punks… Of many flavors… They should… Fight the system…
