“autism wouldn’t have been difficult before capitalism” “nothing that caused me burnout existed before industrialization” well what if your boots feel weird against your skin. and your cape is itchy and too heavy. and your brooch keeps making an annoying sound everytime you move and this party is too loud and you’re hungry and there’s pigeon stew but you can’t stand the texture of pigeon so you ate some olives and now your hands feel oily and gross and you drank a little bit too much wine (bc there’s no clear water. also it was too bitter) so now your head hurts and you feel a little hot but not hot enough to take your cape off and you promised this time we leave when I asked, Aurelius! you promised! and don’t forget we still have a three hour ride back home you promised it’s not going to be like last time! or something of the sort.

the ‘Life only started sucking in the 19th century’ attitude as anti-capitalist praxis is truly hilarious like. personally, if the sun was even a tiny little bit too hot on the back of my neck while i was being kidnapped and taken as a war captive after *insert empire here* conquered my home i wouldve been pissed. praefectus if the shackles feel weird on my skin im killing us both

originally i made this post about how steve buscemi was the only actor talented enough to convince tarantino to not play mr. pink (a character he literally wrote for himself) but then i remembered that quentin literally doesn’t tip and steve used to tip double whenever they went out to eat so the server wouldn’t miss out on the money they should’ve gotten from tarantino. so yeah this image is the realest thing in the world

autistic people of a particular flavour will master the art of expressing mundane sentiment in amusing ways because their most successful jokes as children were primarily accidental. and when you realise you have that spark of a weirdo it's just a matter of intentionality and comic linguistic optimisation to make yourself a regular sayer of things in funny ways.

Specifically, it was indigenous women who freed their village from oppressive forces. From loggers to kidnappers to police, all of them were run out because these women armed (and masked) themselves, took hostages, and threatened to kill them.

Since this day, five years ago, they’ve begun to repair the forest that was destroyed by loggers over the decades. They’ve successfully revived 3000 acres! And because there is no more crime, all citizens feel save roaming the streets at night, and exploring the vast forest they’ve become responsible for.

I went looking for an update since it’s now 8 years from the uprising, and it appears things are still going very well for the community. In fact, they’ve been steadily improving: https://www.latimes.com/food/story/2019-10-07/mushrooms-cheran-mexico-indigenous-revolution

They taught their neighbors to grind onions and guajillo chiles into thick, warming stews called atapakuas and young men to make tortillas by hand, a task historically seen as women’s work. The movement represented a return to certain traditions but, led by women and young people, also meant clearing space for new voices and attitudes.“

This is an EXCELLENT read! - go check it out.  I needed a happy ending.

I'd like to adress a serious issue here. No mobility aid is a fantasy of mine. No accommodation I could ask for is a fancy thing I want. And no tools for any disabled people should be offered as a present for any occasion. Abled people have to understand that a child shouldn't have to chose between some help with their disability and a christmas present. When will people understand that we need those things. It could be a cane, a noise canceling headphones, a wheelchair, some stim toys, we need it. No mental disability or physical disability should be taken lightly. So please, take your disabled children seriously. It's hard enough to ask for help, don't Minimize it.

really fucked up how you dont immediately stop being sick after breaking your fever. like cmon the hard parts done the narrative tension is gone. this is the right moment for it to end. what do you mean im still filled with evil gunk. what the fuck

okay because i'm a super hot Black trans person, here's a hot take:

when people bring up the "well a white transmasc/man can transition and gain all the privileges of cis white men" i have to hold onto the urge to go "well a white transfemme/woman can transition and gain all the privileges of cis white women" because NO ONE WANTS TO TALK ABOUT IT

do you know the literal horrors which cis white women have committed? do you know how they still continue to contribute to the active oppression of People of Color to this day??? or is it like not the same because they're not angry awful smelly white men and dainty and pure white women (that's a product of white supremacy btw)

the fact that people are going “but trans women can never gain the privilege of cis women” dumbass that’s the whole point. are y’all so cognitively challenged that you are unable to comprehend that the whole point is that trans people somehow gaining cis privilege is shitty, stupid, and deplorable. but y’all see a Black trans person say something and completely dismiss it. good job

What was that that Pokewilds game you posted about? I haven't seen that before, is it any good?

Hey, YES! YES IT IS!

PokeWilds is a fangame (not a romhack) that features procedurally generated maps using the Gen2 sprites/tiles and places the player on a beach of a random region that is devoid of people but populated by wild pokemon.

It's basically a pokemon survival game with

  • friendly and unfriendly pokemon
  • day and night cycles
  • multiple biomes, which are being added to even now
  • non-move-tied HMs which allow you to cut trees down, surf, fly, teleport, and even ride on your pokemon
  • legendaries, shinies, and the freedom to explore WHEREVER because the wild pokemon levels grow with you (*some restrictions apply)
  • also the freedom to steal eggs from poke-parents and then narrowly escape with your life as you fucking BOOK IT I'M SO SORRY VENASAUR I JUST WANTED A BULBASAUR BABY I'M SORRY I PROMISE I'LL TAKE GOOD CARE OF IT I SWEAR OH GODOHGODOHGOD

(picture not related, I got this one and got away scott free, unlike the first time)

This game is available for download on GitHub! You can also join the Discord community and keep track of their development.

I've been having lots of fun with it on my off time, and it's honestly REALLY impressive how well put together this is. I only got a game-breaking bug ONCE and I was able to go into de-bug mode and get myself out of it, so.

Anyway, do you guys want to see my Cool Rocks?

This is my grandfather’s rock.  It is Probably a Garnet, which he mined out himself when he was in college studying to be a geologist.

Though you may assume this is a Small Rock, it is in fact a very Large Rock, and also a very Heavy Rock, but most especially a very Square Rock, which is what makes it particularly cool.

Here we have a rock which used to be a tree.  This rock is petrified wood!  It was one of my very first Cool Rocks!

Speaking of rocks that used to be things that were not rocks, this rock is Petoskey stone!  This rock used to be a coral.  Let’s get a good look at those patterns.

Now that’s a Cool Rock!

Amethyst?  It’s an Okay Rock.  If you are looking for an inexpensive rock to start your collection, amethyst is the way to go.  It’s a quartz with a deep purple color.  A very nice, if average, rock.

Now citrine… Citrine is a Cool Rock!  It’s a quartz with a lovely honey color.  This particular piece has been heat-treated.  The druzy on my chunk of citrine has a wonderful sparkle.

This is my Amazonite!  It grew that hexagon shape all by itself!!  This specimen is from Colorado.

Look at this shiny little slice of rock!  This rock is Tiger Iron, and those bands of red and orange glow beautifully with some light behind them.  These different colored bands are made from Hematite (the dark silver), Jasper (the red-orange), and Tiger-Eye quartz (the yellow-orange).

Here’s a rock you’ve probably seen before!  This Cool Rock is Malachite.  The patterns and rings are from the stalagmites this little egg was carved from.

Whoa, look at this giant slab of Extremely Cool Rock!!!  These crystals formed in the cracks of fossilized mud, to make the awesome patterns in this geode of Septarian!  This is my second best rock.

This is my Best and most Favorite Cool Rock.  In this dark room it’s a dull little grey rock, but if I move it closer to the light…

Those glints of gold!  Those veins of blue!  This rock is most certainly Labradorite, which changes color spectacularly when the light hits it just right.  Let’s put it in direct sunlight.

Yes!!  YES!!  There it is!!  The Best and Coolest Rock!!!!!

This post rocks :D

Stress having physical effects is so stupid your body’s just like “you’ve been having a real shit time and I’m about to make it worse” I hope you die I hope we both die

[ID: A panel-less, cartoony comic of Jedediah and Octavius from the Night at the Museum franchise on a white background. Jedediah is a cowboy with light skin, blue eyes, and messy blonde hair that falls to just below his chin and sticks out at odd angles. He's wearing a pale blue shirt, a tan vest, a red neckerchief, and a dark brown hat with a braided cord. Octavius is a light-skinned Roman legion general wearing stereotypical armor with a red crested helmet and a red cape.

Scene 1: Jedediah and Octavius are standing next to each other, practically shoulder to shoulder. Octavius has his eyes closed and a speech bubble over his head says, "Sometimes I wonder how I taste haha". Jedediah is grinning as he looks sideways at Octavius. His speech bubble reads, "I can help with that".

Scene 2: Both are still standing next to each other, both with a different thought bubble over their heads. Octavius has a deep flush across his cheeks and an embarrassed expression. His thought bubble is filled with an image of the two of them kissing, surrounded by sparkle and bubble effects. Jedediah has a mischievous expression. His thought bubble pictures the two of them with Octavius bent down slightly so that Jed can chew on his helmeted head. End ID.]
