How did you enter the field of technical writing just out curiosity?
I fell into it backwards, and I don't think it's possible for anyone to follow the same path these days.
- Worked at WotC in a variety of positions, ending up as a jr. editor for Duelist magazine.
- Left WotC, freelanced writing documentation for a couple of small companies.
- Got a contract at Microsoft as a content creator/QA for Microsoft Reader (the first ebook software).
- Got a contract at Microsoft as a technical editor.
- Bounced around multiple companies as a technical editor or technical writer for ... longer than some of you have been alive.
- Signed on with my current company 4 years ago, and when there were enough writers to actually have a team, the guy who hired me said to higher ups "Ask Jillian if she wants to manage the team. I don't. She has excellent people and communication skills."

With it being spooky season,It is the time to buy cool home decor. Are there any particular stores (online or otherwise) you would recommend?
My number one suggestion is that if there are shops such as T.J. Maxx, Ross, Marshall's, or Home Goods, go there. ESPECIALLY Home Goods, because they always have a wide range of stuff at decent prices.
Other than that, if you can, check out your local thrift stores. This is the time of year they put out the cool stuff.
Michaels and Joann are pretty much useless - everything interesting is sold out on their sites, and the stores themselves have been wastelands with nothing in stock.
