idk, what is wrong with me? i’m in a healthy and stable relationship with a great partner, i’ve had lots of therapy that has helped me establish strong boundaries and recognize red flags, and i have an active social life and fulfilling career. could it be that i just… like to read books and watch movies and tv shows about dysfunctional people??? you tell me, tumblr user girlcreator!

more deets on “Mokuba and Shizuka should be friends” from the mind of yours truly

  • Shizuka absolutely did not believe Mokuba was vice president of anything the first few times he mentioned it, she was convinced he was bullshitting her until she went home and googled it. She is still skeptical. 
  • At some point Mokuba asks about her surgery and she explains neutrally and totally-matter-of-factly what “congenital amaurosis” is and what it can do to your retinas in clinical detail, which unsettles Mokuba for the next week. She does this while they are playing fortnite. She is carrying.
  • Jonouchi emphatically does not like the idea of Shizuka hanging around the Kaibas but what’s he going to do, try to tell her who to be friends with? Would absolutely never fly. And Mokuba is a good kid. So he just has to suffer in silence. God he hates this so much.
  • Kaiba’s opinion is “It’s good that Mokuba is making more friends his own age.” end of opinion.
  • Mokuba and Shizuka are in full agreement that Katsuya Jonouchi is extremely great and the best and if he ever heard them say this he would cry. Sometimes he takes them out for burgers.
  • Shizuka thinks Mokuba’s brother is “nice but kind of weird.” but like, Mokuba is also weird, which she chalks up to being a rich homeschool kid, but he’s fun weird and really good at capmon. One time Kaiba let her ride in the helicopter and that was really cool. Maybe all big brothers are just weird. Have you ever met Jonouchi?
  • It eventually becomes clear to her that Mokuba’s conception of money and scarcity is absolutely bizarre. One time she complained the clerk at Claire’s was mean to her and he innocently offered to buy the entire mall and have them fired. Shizuka is very good and responsible and never abuses this but it takes willpower.
  • Shizuka now has the ability to drop casual details about the Kaiba’s home lives and it makes everyone lose their minds. “One time Kaiba-san took us to the movies and he wouldn’t eat popcorn but he did get himself sour patch kids. He complained about how bad the CGI was the whole time. He has a locked desk drawer full of weird imported snacks.” she says, and no one knows what to do with this information or if it means anything but their lives are more surreal for knowing it.
