Splinter taught his boys and himself karate for self-defense purposes and train to keep their skills sharp but otherwise never actually got to use those fighting skills in real fights until the plot kick up
Splinter’s life as a normal rat was nothing but a kill or be killed kind of world but the cycle of violence stopped with him!!!
Superfly after his first outing gone wrong had to kill to save his family and kept on killing every single human that saw his face afterwards and eventually that level of constant aggression bled into his dynamic with his siblings
hell the violence starts even earlier for him earlier Superfly saw his father get killed right in front him and had to fight his way out of a raid and even when he tried to give humanity another chance it still ended in violence!!

i just think the mutant mayhem x peatos collab is very funny
logically i know they're trying to not market chemicals and death to children but also. vegan whole food snacks in MY ninja turtles?? the franchise infamous for weird pizza loving little guys? wherein 12 mikey is seen eating actual chemicals and mold?? wherein bay mikey saying "I'm vegan! except for pepperoni and cheese and eggs..."
