Gerry Keay hair dye headcanon, but I don't think his hair is dyed *that* badly. Sure maybe you can see the roots if he hasn't touched it up in a few weeks, but it's not awful. I think he is simply ginger, and so painfully obviously ginger, with pale as hell eyebrows and a bunch of freckles, that everyone who has ever seen him has been like "there is no way on earth that man's hair is naturally black."

I've always learnt that stories need conflict. But I've noticed a lot of people here hungering for tenderness.

"And they loved each other very much."

"No - no, please. You can't stop there. Please tell me how they love each other. How does it look?"

"They hug?"

"How do they hug? Does someone lay their head near someone's heart? Close their eyes? Rest their chin on the top of someone's head? Do they caress? Do they whisper? Do they have pet names? Please, I beg of you!"

"Uh... they always run towards each other. They can't not. They do it when they really shouldn't. They hug and then one cups the other's head, to kiss them, and they embrace some more. And then they grin at each other like idiots and say: "Hi." "I missed you." And then they touch each others face like they're the most precious thing in the world. And they don't stop touching as they walk back."

(Tearful):" Are there cheek kisses? Head kisses? Small kisses on the lips?"

"Yes, many. Hand kisses too, where they press their cheek against the back of the other's hand while closing their eyes."

(Crying) "And then?"

"The other nestles in, and holds them so, so tight, while the first strokes their hair and back, and tells them: "I love you."

(Bawling): "I'd love 26000 scenes more like this, please and thank you!"

"But, there's not..."

"Take them on dates!"

"Dates?"

"In Paris!!!"

"This is Darth Vader..."

"Space Paris!!!"

there aren’t enough posts going around about the swedish cryptid known as the skvader which is a rabbit with pheasant wings and also a very good boy.

like this one dude just made a fake taxidermy and spread it around as a hoax for a good ass while and it lead to this really cool fantasy creature and i am genuinely dissapointed that it never gets used in anything

Rabbirds, by the amazing @tkingfisher/Ursula Vernon (source).

The lack of skvaders is particularly frustrating when you realize it forms the third point of a wonderful cryptid trifecta.

You got the jackalopes, which are rabbits with antlers.

And you got the wolpertingers, which are rabbits with antlers and wings.

And then… what? Do you escalate? That’s unbalanced, those two rabbit cryptids don’t have the same number of extra things, the wolpertinger is clearly the jackalope But More.

BUT with the skvader on the other side, balance is restored. Antler rabbit, winged rabbit, winged antler rabbit. It’s a classic Venn diagram of imaginary lapine beasts, and it’s only complete if you acknowledge the fucking skvader.

Good thing Ursula’s got our back, at least.

This is a really excellent point and I applaud your advancements in Cryptid Theory.

Gentleman, if I might add:

yes you may add this

I think balance in crypdids is VERY IMPORTANT.

Ok, but if you’re an independent contractor in the US and this happens? Find a lawyer, because you might have just gotten a huge payday.

Your position was just referred to as employment. Independent contractors do not have employers; they do not have employment. Congrats, your contact at this company just provided evidence that you were illegally missclassified.

This contact is claiming that you have set hours you’re obligated to fulfill. Unless a work task can only be done at a set time for practical reasons (i.e. you’re an audio freelancer paid to support a live event that occurs at a particular time and requires a certain amount of pre-show setup), a company cannot set an independent contractor’s work hours. This is further evidence that you were missclassified.

The whole exchange establishes that the company is interpreting an employer-employee relationship rather than expecting a service. Discipline and potential for firing (you cannot fire an independent contractor; no longer purchasing their service is not equivalent) establish that this person views themselves as a manager. Independent contractors cannot have managers.

This one text exchange could:

  • Get you back pay for the full duration you’ve worked there, to bring you up to the compensation that an employee would have gotten
  • Get you back compensation for lost benefits that an employee would have gotten
  • Get you back pay for the additional self-employment taxes the company should have covered
  • Get the company to pay back taxes to the government
  • Get the company to hire everyone who performed a similar role, or face further penalties and fines
  • A win would encourage the rest of their missclassified workers to sue for the same, or give them leverage to demand a better deal

If the company is going to screw you over like that, may as well make them pay for it.

Since this is getting a lot of reblogs, here’s a federal source that can help you determine if you’re illegally classified as a contractor:

You can also file a form with the IRS to force the company to correct your classification (assuming you meet the criteria), without necessarily having to sue:

Keep in mind that this is just federal. Most states also prohibit missclassification as an independent contractor; and even if states have more lenient rules, companies still have to comply with this federal law. The rules have largely been bipartisan and existed for decades, so they’re common.

States also have an interest in having regulations about missclassification: it’s a significant loss of tax revenue. Your self employment tax does not fully equal what a company would have paid for you in payroll taxes.

A lawyer can help point you in the right direction if a company is currently missclassifying you.

Fantastic addition

Die mad, bitch.

This is huge on multiple levels!! If you read the article, it says not only do the bills provide legal access to gender affirming health care and abortions, they also allow people to cross state lines against the draconian laws of their own states trying to prohibit them, because Colorado will protect people who cross state lines to access these things from being investigated.

That’s an incredible level of dedication and defiance of the fucked up states around them!!

This is some really good news. I hope it brings some light to people’s day. Like, great that a bigot is throwing a fit, but I’m way more excited about the actual legislation. :D

That’s pretty common with sanctuary laws! Several states have sanctuary laws already, and MN just passed one today. WA, OR, and VT have bills in play, and OR’s Democrats have floated the idea of amending the state constitution to protect people’s right to self-directed health care for themselves and their children, including trans healthcare.

It means very little for your state to be a sanctuary without those clauses in there - if people can just be dragged back out again, why would they run there in the first place?
