okay i looked up the answer and they literally are just vibing. like they don't go anywhere because the zoo gives them food and people like seeing them so they let them hang out all over the place. also they're not aggressive unless you make a point of fucking with them so that's usually not an issue

At the zoo back home there's a peacock that's albino so it doesn't interact much with the other peacocks and the keepers think having him walk around with guests help entertain him

The zoo I worked at did this until some of the peacocks wondered into the street and 3 of them were run over. I went back last week and there were no more peacocks to be found.
