I think why the McLaren team orders today stink is because Lando wasn’t let past to try and get another position, he was let past to take Oscar’s position. He wasn’t ever going to be overtaking Max after that. Yes, he was faster than Oscar, but Oscar should have been allowed to defend the position. If Lando is that much faster, then overtake him.

this was a high tyre deg race? George literally lost 8 seconds on his hards one stop. if oscar/lando had worse tyres after constantly defending position from your own teammate (which, lando being faster stuck behind oscar would try to do), that risks ferrari and merc to disrupt their incredibly safe 2-3, when they're battling aston for 4th in the championship. team orders are to benefit the team first and foremost, than the driver.

lando was within DRS range and could overtake in a few laps, but if oscar defends/lando puts that move they're both unnecessarily risking their tyres with leclerc and hamilton ready to pounce

i genuinely think atp that a significant chunk of people in this fandom think that f1 is supposed to be non stop on track overtakes for the lead for the entire 300km when that has like, never been the case, and that is why we get people calling every single race boring even when there is a veritable entire sitcom season's worth of nonsense happening on track. like i don't think people are actually aware of the natural rhythm of a race and the fact that there are always going to be at least a couple of 5-10 lap periods where nothing happens

People calling todays race boring. Checo did NOT drive into Lewis within three seconds of the race starting, pit to get a new front wing, drive into KMag, pit AGAIN to get a second front wing, retire, get put back in the car, sit there in the garage for fifteen minutes waiting to be released, make a surprise guest appearance on lap 42 to do one (1) lap, come back into the pits to serve a five second penalty, and then retire AGAIN for the race to be called boring. Have some RESPECT
