DON'T EQUATE "WHAT YOU ARE ABLE TO GIVE" WITH "WHAT YOU HAVE" IN YOUR MIND. people are choosing to read the former in this post as the latter when it is not there. only you can judge what you are able to give. on some days, that may be nothing. so don't give anything on those days. only give what you are able to.
this isn't about unhealthily prioritizing doing as much as possible for others over doing anything for yourself, it's about not succumbing to individualism and being willing to help others where you can because that strengthens everyone! it's good to be connected to people and mutually supportive!!

I’ve been seeing it happen to a handful of people, but apparently if you try to delete your sideblog you will end up deleting your MAIN tumblr account entirely as well I don’t know if this is a bug or something, but I’ve seen it happen to ~4 people now, so until this possible bug gets worked out do NOT delete any of your sideblogs unless you want to risk deleting your account entirely
But seriously I now learned my lesson hehe Re logging to warn more people! DO NOT DO THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!!

One of the niche hobbies I have is insulator collecting. Insulators are the glass/ceramic parts that keep electrical lines from shorting out:

The hobby is dominated by retired lineworkers. But it deserves so much more attention! They are often referred to as "crown jewels of the wire". Anyway, this is my niche infodump. Thanks for reading!

For the record, im pretty sure I speak for 90% of twitch streamlettes when I say: always use an ad blocker. No matter what.
Like, you’re not stealing from the creator if you do. Unless a streamer is Jerma Sized, ads will provide about five cents a month; twitch has routinely attempted to push ads with “incentive programs” that go nowhere and alienate audiences.
If you want to support a creator, find out where they can be supported- a single 5 dollar donation when you can afford it will literally do more for them than anything twitch or YouTube “provides” via ads ✅
Additionally:
You will see streamers taking more sponsorships in the coming years. Twitch has become significantly less profitable for smaller streamers in the last two years, and Twitch’s latest attempts to change their EULA just exemplify that they want more cuts of what streamers make-
Like, unless a streamer is Jerma-sized, have a little bit of mercy for them when they play some star trak game sponsorship for extra coin. That shit is going towards groceries.
Twitch, YouTube, and every site under the sun want you to see as many ads as possible- it’s almost never actually up to the creator, and if it were anyone’s choice, you wouldn’t be seeing ads.

This is obviously a joke, and it's really funny, but just in case - in this video, it looks like the people filming did a lot of things right here. They're a bit closer than I'd have liked, but they didn't try to pet or harass the monitor. Monitors are awesome, but big ones like this can be very dangerous, and it's never smart to bother wildlife but that's doubly true for monitors.
