@goatcheese-anon

About me: He/they (Nonbinary), 18+, System, Autistic, Phoenix Wright IRL, ADHD.

So um, apparently I have a tumblr now,, I um,, I write a few fanfics on AO3 under the anonymous tag, but I decided to give a name, so, here I am!

Goatcheese-Anon!.. I just really like Goat cheese, okay?

Anyway,, um.. I will mostly post stuff about my fanfics, repost a funny, or share my art with this realm of terror that I've come to love called Tumblr.. I used it before AGES ago, so I'm kinda like a veteran returning to a battlefield. Anyway, enough rambling,

So, rules:

° This is a 13+ blog. I will definitely be posting mild gore and horror so yea,,

° I WILL NOT BE POSTING NSFW HERE. (Idk, maybe I'll make a side blog,,)

° No hateful comments, No racism, No hate in general,, like, jeez, we're here to have a good time, Karen.

° I WILL block any pro-shipper or p3d0 I come across. So, fuck you in particular if you are one.

.. I suppose I'll add more if I'll think of more, so, until then,, um, have a nice day! (Except you, Pro-shippers and p3d0s. Fuck you, I wish you'll stub your toe twice a day for the rest of your life right after you wake up and when you go to sleep.)

The only three things separating Stanley Parable from being any ordinary horror game which plays in some abandoned, yet seemingly still fully functional office complex, are

1, the lights don't suddenly turn off,

2, You have company whilst being in some creepy, abandoned office building,

And 3, the disembodied voice, which happens to be said company, which follows you everywhere and monitors every decision you make isn't actively trying to kill you or scare the crap outta you.. (let's ignore some of the endings in which he did)

If you take away all three points, this game would definitely be a very creepy horror game.

I participated in @just-a-drawing-bean 's magma during my nightshift.. I had a blast!

Honestly, I couldn't stop laughing when I drew Moonton and everyone joined in into the Spamton madness.. Though, admittedly, my top favorite ones I drew were the Moon w tongue out, and Spy w Moon mask

Physically need Heavy TF2 to mistranslate Russian idioms in works of fiction so much. You don't even understand.

Heavy: You think you are the bellybutton of the world

Scout: The fuck???

I don't speak Russian, but man, you're a genius. Now I want the same for medic.

Scout: *pulls an incredibly stupid prank *

Medic: I think my pig is whistling. You spider! The Schalk really is in your neck today, isn't it?

You´re SPINNING! When would you say Du Spinne? I think it hacks at you.

Admit it tho, it sounds hilarious 😭😭 (My brain said 'Ich Spinne' and accidentally did the grammar wrong)

And to add to this, Spy would do this too!

Spy: *Sees scout do the stupid prank *

Spy: He has a spider on the ceiling..

Idk who needs to hear that, but using a shit ton of references for art is valid. Tracing, as long as you credit the person if it's very identical and if you post it, is valid. You learn by doing. So if you trace something enough, you'll eventually be able to draw the previously traced piece from memory, and you can adapt it to whatever you want. Be it a different style, a different pose, a different palette.. Same with references.. That's what they're for, people. Tracing isn't illegal, neither is using references, no matter how cheap that feels.

That's just how we learn. So, would you rather be stuck and eventually give up because you can't get it right? Or will you seek help by the very tools given to artists so they can learn these things?

It's literally in the Sesame Street opening.. Not sure if it's in the English version, but a german verse in there was always "Sometimes you have to ask to understand these things!". So ask. Ask google, ask people around you who draw, ask Google for references, ask. Just ask, guys

What if the two literal ends of the SFM Animation spectrum meet eachother..

*stares at Unusual Troubles and Emesis Blue *

Just imagine the crackhead horror chaos of these two universes meeting.. *cutely places Unusual Troubles soldier into Emesis Blue and puts EB Medic into UT *

.. You know what, this sounds like a good thing to draw actually to lighten the mood after watching this/lh

.. Okay so..

Instead of EB Medic's reflection strangling him, it's just UT Medic offering 'Medicine'

genshin impact and vtubers have done irreparable damage to the state of character design

Explain?

my personal feeling on the subject is that they prioritize overly complex accessorizing over clarity of concept, and are unwilling to stray from a hyperspecific and incredibly bland base. almost all genshin and vtuber designs have the same handful of body types - all skinny except for maybe a fat rack - and almost all of them are extremely pale. they all have identical 'anime' face shapes, and any and all variation in facial structure is eye shape.

the overly complex nature of the outfits/surface level aesthetics paired with the copy and paste nature of the underlying bodies and faces leads to this incredibly bizarre and somewhat paradoxical design phenomenon where every individual design has a ton happening in it but this makes them all feel more generic, not less. it all just ends up as visual noise especially when you get one or more of these designs next to each other. i also think a lot of them have really bad silhouettes and awkwardly proportioned outfits. I think the kids who grow up inspired to make art from these sort of artists are gonna end up preferring to put the cart before the horse in terms of character design.

With v-tubers its a bit different than genshin because a vtuber isnt really a character in a setting. but for genshin, especially when compared to the more mundanely and reasonably dressed npcs, the outfits are so overdesigned that they come across as actively immersion breaking to me. i havent played the game though i will say.

none of this is the end of the world, anyone who wants to draw a bunch of cluttered generic 'anime' stuff is free to do so. but i really do feel like it's a shame that art styles that have so little variation in body type, skin tone, and taste have such a large amount of cultural capital rn.

This. 👆
