No offense to modern Doctor Who but why does every companion stay in the TARDIS until some horrible life altering thing forces them to leave (death, trapped in a parallel universe, memories forcibly taken, etc.). I miss how in Classic Who most companions just said “Hey Doc, this has been fun but I think it’s time I went home” or “hey this planet is pretty cool, I think I’m going to stay here” and the Doctor was just like “okay cool, I’ll always remember you fondly, bye!”
litterally this is how the ponds should have left like we had whole episodes about how they are settling in the real life and like making plans in the future there and Amy getting over the hero worship etc etc like they SHOULD have said “good bye doctor, do come at christmas sometimes” and it would have been perfect but nauuuur they had to ruin it with this stupid ass angels in manhattan episode i am so salty about it

there is a resurgence in discussion about headless women in art and advertisements that i’ve seen here in feminist circles recently, and as @raxiesrot pointed out, this is what that trend looks like for black women. depersonalized in a similar way, but instead of a removed head, we have a woman who is photographed in such a way that her skin color is used to erase her features. she has the contours of a woman without being a recognizable individual.
obviously the history of this kind of depiction did not begin with high fashion’s recent obsession with very dark (and beautiful) female models. indeed, black women have been portrayed as featureless silhouettes in art for several hundred years. some black artists have reclaimed this–and the sambo image–but it is generally shorthand for unpersonhood and it’s … really unsettling.

The fashion industry loves to treat dark skin like a material. Even when they play around with the contrast of pale skin models, their skin colour is never changed to look like a material. There’s a tendency of the fashion industry to pressure dark skin models with kinky hair to shave their heads. Yes as Black women we’re crazy about our hair but in instances like this they’re going out their way to not deal with the real physical characteristics of these women. Like you said, it’s about depersonalisation. Dark skin women are literally being portrayed as an object and not even an objectified woman
@pumpumdemsugah is right as usual–if you’re a dark black female model, you don’t get to keep your hair. who else does this happen to? they don’t shave the heads of chinese or white models en masse. partially it’s due to ignorance about black hairstyles–the same reason many, many black women in geek culture media are bald, for example, because the racist white men who create sci-fi and fantasy characters literally cannot be bothered–and some of it is about masculinization, yes.
but mostly it’s about depersonalization. it’s about making dark-skinned african women literally interchangeable. do you know the traditional cultural hairstyle differences between a sudanese woman and a nigerian woman? an ethiopian woman and a congolese woman? or the way we black women wear our hair outside of the industry? yes, some of us are bald, but hair is kind of a huge part of our self-image. perhaps the biggest part. this is how the two most famous dark-skinned african models, adult akech (left) and anok yai (right) wear their hair on their off-duty:

Leaving the morality of abortion aside, if you don't have enough money to abort you definitely do not have enough money to get and raise a baby. Like. One of those things is more expensive than the other.

I am not absolutely convinced that either of those options cover the cost of giving birth + not working for some time before and after birth + all the medical problems that can arise during and after a pregnancy.
Pregnancy crisis centers will absolutely do all of those things, as will some adoptive parents.
Can you link to somewhere saying they do ? The Wikipedia article on them says

They gave free pregnancy test. Which is not nearly in the same cost range.
I will change my mind however if you give solid sources that says they do.
As for adoption it's illegal to offer money for a baby. So maybe they'd cover the hospital cost, they certainly will not pay for the lost paychecks. If you disagree you're welcome to offer sources that says otherwise too. Absolutely no chances of paying for medical bills for the mother after the baby is given away too but whatever.
