"The Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) of the International Criminal Court (ICC) has opened a digital platform to enable people to submit complaints online to the ICC with the option to add pictures and videos that show the crimes of the Israeli occupiers against them for the court to consider them and to take a stance against Israel. Those with information relevant to current events in Israel and Palestine are asked to provide submissions. Information submitted under this portal should relate to alleged crimes within the jurisdiction of the ICC, namely War Crimes, Crimes Against Humanity, Genocide, or Aggression.
Anyone can submit information through the portal. You do not necessarily need to be a victim or witness of the alleged crimes within the jurisdiction of the ICC listed above. Information can also be submitted collectively or through an organization (for example an NGO, your masjid, a church), as long as there is an identifiable sender."

Dabka or Dapka is a detailed type of needlework from Rajasthan in India. It is usually done at the final stage of the production process to add finishing touch embellishments.
At least three to four worker workers are required for a detailed and fine work at the same time on the same piece. First a thick cotton cord is stitched on the pattern to be embroidered. Then on this cord prefabricated metal thread is looped on with an ordinary stitching needle. The patterns mostly made are of flowers, leaves, or birds. Skilled embroiders can even do french knots with the smallest size.

SAG-AFTRA, the union representing thousands of performers, has struck a deal with an AI voice acting platform aimed at making it easier for actors to license their voice for use in video games. ...
the agreements cover the creation of so-called “digital voice replicas” and how they can be used by game studios and other companies. The deal has provisions for minimum rates, safe storage and transparency requirements, as well as “limitations on the amount of time that a performance replica can be employed without further payment and consent.”
Notably, the agreement does not cover whether actors’ replicas can be used to train large language models (LLMs), though Replica Studios CEO Shreyas Nivas said the company was interested in pursuing such an arrangement. “We have been talking to so many of the large AAA studios about this use case,” Nivas said. He added that LLMs are “out-of-scope of this agreement” but “they will hopefully [be] things that we will continue to work on and partner on.”
...Even so, some well-known voice actors were immediately skeptical of the news, as the BBC reports. In a press release, SAG-AFTRA said the agreement had been approved by "affected members of the union’s voiceover performer community." But on X, voice actors said they had not been given advance notice. "How has this agreement passed without notice or vote," wrote Veronica Taylor, who voiced Ash in Pokémon. "Encouraging/allowing AI replacement is a slippery slope downward." Roger Clark, who voiced Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, also suggested he was not notified about the deal. "If I can pay for permission to have an AI rendering of an ‘A-list’ voice actor’s performance for a fraction of their rate I have next to no incentive to employ 90% of the lesser known ‘working’ actors that make up the majority of the industry," Clark wrote.
SAG-AFTRA’s deal with Replica only covers a sliver of the game industry. Separately, the union is also negotiating with several of the major game studios after authorizing a strike last fall. “I certainly hope that the video game companies will take this as an inspiration to help us move forward in that negotiation,” Crabtree said.

just so it shows up in the notes: this is an extremely good thing, which is why you will see the internet/cell companies revolt against it-- it will prevent them from selling your data to spamcall companies and selectively throttling their competitor's sites, among other things.
also remember that the internet has basically replaced phone service entirely now, with most phones now simply operating via VOIP. legislating the internet the same way as landlines were is really a no-brainer, it's the same service in a slightly different form.
What we need, long-term, is for Congress to make a law about it, so the definition doesn't change every few years when a new FCC is in place.

yes. we are more than victims of genocide. we are people with culture and joy and history and life and resistance and love and resilience . we will not let all of that be overlooked. talk about our pain and the injustice that we face, but don’t forget our joy too. although these instances of pain and suffering are true and ongoing, you need to recognize that by only listening to stories of our suffering, you narrow the complexities of the full Palestinian person and experience .
