Is it possible to put an OC up for adoption?
So a little background- ever since I was a young child I thought it would be the fricken coolest thing ever for an action hero to beat people up with a hula hoop. I thought, if only you could learn how to use it correctly, a hula hoop would be a fricken awesome weapon. It was more interesting to me than actually hula hooping. Well, after a while, that dream was forgotten- until one day I saw a video of the Native American Hoop Dance. This reawakening my dream, I created this OC.
(Apologies for the picture, I would have picked a different shirt color if I had realized she would look like Steve Minecraft)
About her- genre-wise, she's a magical girl, though I have little experience with the genre, I sorta know the gist of it? She likes Hoop Dancing, Robotics, and Car Racing. When she encounters alien nanobots, she funnels them into her hoops and uses them to create and control a mech suit that transforms as she wills. The nanobots can't read her mind, though, so she has to use the hoops to tell them what to do. Media that reminds me of her is the song GAS GAS GAS - EXTENDED MIX on Spotify, and the show Ms Marvel (yes, I know Ms Marvel is Pakistani, but they have a sorta similar tonal vibe and also that was the vibe I had in mind long before Ms Marvel even came out, it just happened to catch it perfectly)
About the world I created her in- A long time ago, I was thinking of superpowers that would suck to have, because it's fun, and I came up with a character that was completely unnoticeable. She can't be acknowledged or seen whatsoever, and she can't turn this power off. Her backstory/secret identity would be to be that one friend who's just kinda there, never acknowledged or spoken to, but they're always there. And then I thought, wouldn't it be cool if there was a show where there was just this one character in the background of all the main characters, seemingly part of the friendgroup but never brought up by any of them at all, they never speak to her, but she's always there? And by necessity the writing and directing of the show would match her powers and turn the spotlight away from her, even though she's always there. Which means she can't be the main character. So I set about coming up with other magical girls to be in a super team with this unnoticeable girl, and not notice her because of her curse, but eventually notice the evidence that she's there and work around it and be true friends, even though they can't actually perceive her. This unnoticeable girl is so relevant to the nanobot girl I've been talking about because she inspired the world that I invented nanobot girl in, and also because they are girlfriends.
Friends and ships- She is the first to notice the unnoticeable girl, and despite not being able to be aware of her, sometimes is able to instinctively grab her hand. This is special because it is a very long and complicated romance because of unnoticeable girls' condition. But there are three other friends in their magical girl team- a smol bean precious magic of friendship girl who can turn into her D&D character, a gigantic fricking orc with an enormous battleaxe (inspired by a tumblr post I saw long ago that I don't know how to find again), a boy (initially) who is her best friend and gets the power to stretch like elastigirl (it is very important to me that her magical girl form is the only conventionally attractive one on the team), and the one with a redemption arc, who is initially one of the mean popular girls, but has the power to slowly and painfully with many realistic sound effects do a body horror transformation into a gigantic disgusting wyvern (her boyfriend is into it). The point behind this team was that they all got their powers in different completely unrelated ways, but they come together with their various powers and fight.. stuff. Together. I don't know who the villains of the show are actually gonna be. Maybe the cops, at some point. Also one super smart villain who reviews the footage to try and defeat them and discovers that they have a secret fifth member who can't be percieved, which is news to them.
(Apologies for the poor drawing quality, I was a bit rushed and just trying to show a general concept of who they were. I'm aware that her mech suit looks awful.)
Why is she up for adoption? Well, the thing is, I am not Native American. Nor do I know anyone who is. I can't even give her a proper name because of how uninformed I am about her culture. It breaks my heart to do this, but I need to send her away or she'll never be more than a shell of an idea, wasting away and never taking physical form, eventually dying with me. Take good care of her. You don't have to take her friends or world with her if you don't want, I just felt it necessary to explain where she came from to give you the best idea of her character that I can. If I could upload her entire being directly from my brain I would. Flesh out her backstory, give her a satisfying arc. Raise her in a PG environment, maybe pushing PG-13, but don't you dare take her above that, at least in canon. Medium doesn't matter, although I originally imagined her existing in an animated TV show, I know most people don't have the means to make one. Goodbye. I'll miss her, but it's for the best.
TL:DR- I made a character that I love but I don't have the cultural knowledge to do justice to, so I am putting this OC up for adoption by someone who is intimately familiar with Native American culture (I don't know which tribe, which is part of the problem) and can flesh her out and help her flourish as somebodies beloved blorbo.
