Hey … remember when Michael Bay made five movies full of ugly robots that looked like they’d been covered in glue and rolled in scrap metal?  And then Travis Knight made a movie full of gorgeous robots that hearkened to the original designs and which you could actually tell apart?

Good times, good times.

Baljeet was the only fucking sane character on this show I swear to god. Everyone was either batshit insane, playing god, an actual crackhead, way too teenager to be sane, or had an IQ less than 70.

baljeet once attempted to remove all the atmosphere from the earth, the entire atmosphere, in order to have an unobstructed view of space are you sure about that assessment

I often talk about reality checking and going along with it when helping someone deal with delusions, but I felt as if I didn’t really make it clear to what I meant when I said it.

Recently I saw a post similar to “how to sneakily give your delusional friend a reality check when they told you not to” and honestly, that’ll just make us lose trust for you. Because we can tell when you do that.

i think its worth saying that “adding to the delusion/trying to send them deeper into the delusion” isnt always as malicious as it sounds, “adding to the delusion” can mean attempting to comfort them but inadvertently creating more layers of it (ie “youll be safe if you keep your door shut” “they cant hurt you because im protecting you”, etc).

even if your intentions are good and it temporarily makes them feel safer, youre just adding another layer to it, and it will just become more difficult for them to overcome later on

It literally doesnt matter that Twilight had a “female protagonist going after what she wants” when Stephenie Meyer literally took a real Native tribe, bastardized and exoticized their history and culture, and spent a whole 4 books making them out to be “wild” and having the Cullens frequently making pretty disgusting racist remarks that go unchallenged, and even having a bit of lore in the official guide where people’s skin becomes LIGHTER (not just ‘desaturated’ which is what happens when people with darker skin ‘go pale’) but actually lighter.

Also are we gonna forget all the abusive red flags? The whole plot where “strong girls KEEP fetuses that will surely kill them!” The fact that people of color only exist in Twilight to either be exotified or killed? The sole Latina character being an “evil seductress” who corrupted this poor widdle confederare soldier? Are we really forgetting all of this and claiming Twilight as feminist literature?

Hating things solely because girls like it is shitty and misogynistic. Hating things because theyre racist and sexist? That’s different.

And the vast majority of people I’ve seen blogging about twilight in this the year 2019 are by and large, white.

If you want to know more, @fandomshatepeopleofcolor has a lot of great posts goint into Twilight’s racism.

modern day adaptation of norse mythology were gleipnir (the unbreakable ribbon that binds fenrir) is made out of these

Hot tip for removing these easily: turn them inside out and then pull firmly on the flap, they’ll come apart with very little effort

picture a 64 year old man with the temperament and the looks of ron swanson watching the Thor: Ragnarok trailer completely blank faced, until Loki shows up and he smiles and says “Mira! Ese es Loki”
