the one who was childhood innocence. scraped up knees and grass stains. shared french fries. walks to school together. pick-up basketball games. little rumors about dating. friendship that will always be a fond memory.

the one who makes you see everything in a new light. late night texts. sharing a sweet tea. swapping homework answers. spilling secrets. sitting so close you basically share the same chair. bickering. always coming back around. knowing when the other is sad without having to ask.

the one who just feels different than any before. drive-in movies. the slow but easy build up of connection. unplanned adventures. swimming with our clothes on. loving hard and loving constantly. talking about things we don’t say out loud with anyone else. long, long hugs. 10pm driveway talks.

the one that you know is a risk. physical intimacy. cigarettes on drives with the windows down. hand holding in the drive thru. coffee runs with the dog in the back seat. future plans that will never happen. waking up in a hug. sharing sweatshirts. kisses on cheeks.

and each one will hurt. but each one will feel like euphoria. there will always be love to look back on and appreciate and love to look forward to.

You won’t give up on something until and unless Allah puts it in your heart that you deserve better and then one morning you’ll see a very different side of you and you will gladly welcome it. It will be a much stronger you, both emotionally and mentally. You will be surprised how easily your heart will be ready to let go of that which you once desperately desired and prayed for.

Everything gets easier and life feels less burdensome once you get rid of that which Allah has not written for you.

you might search for happiness in this world but you’ll turn to the true source of happiness again and again because the hearts know that nothing can provide a peaceful heart and life except the remembrance of the One Who created us, the heaven and the earth.

People can destroy your image, damage your personality, create rumors about you but they can never take away your good deeds. Because no matter how they describe you, you will always be admired by those who know you best.
