thinking so seriously about the hs sona, im afraid

#land of clovers and mines ... clovers for luck thang and i like them ^_^ and red/green duality. and clover flowers/mines . and aquatic#i want to make him a robot so bad. i will do any mental gymnastics to make him a robot.#oh i want him to be so weird. about surveillance and the 4th wall and luck and Knowing. okay ? a character is not a person. a dead characte#doesnt need an audience. and what becomes of an audience watched ? to turn the camera away from the stage-#and then turn it back- to find that the show has already begun? what happens when a character becomes the audience to the viewer#and what happens when the show is put on for them ? this is how im interpreting the control a witch of light might have over their aspect#ghostart#homestuck#self

actually so scary to realize that since my childhood homestuck phase was before i did digital art, all of my Extensive homestuck fanart is in the room with me, at all times, at most 5 paces away .

why do you make torsos so short

i think I generally make them a normalish length unless i, god forbid, am having fun with shapes.

but if you really want the introspective break-down of reasoning:

- i treat legs as more expressive and gestural (as opposed to the torso as "the shape at the middle that the parts are connected to but idgaf about") so theyre gonna get exaggerated in length.

- i like to draw people posed or dressed in a manner thatd give the appearance of a shortened torso (curled up, foreshortened, high waisted pants or dresses) etc.

i have noticed when using anatomical refs before that i underestimate the size of the torso. but to reiterate . idgaf about that thang, and thats why i dont focus on it 😎👍 hope this answers your question. peace be with you
