I'm just here. There is nothing else to it.

the romanticism of undressing someone and seeing their curves and edges and birthmarks and scars and moles and freckles and kissing every single one of them

Not only is the Civil War B-plot a little underwhelming in practice, taken up mostly by you personally traveling back and forth between camps and Solitude/Windhelm, but the game is actively better if it's left incomplete. Much of the world building of Skyrim revolves around a low level but ongoing conflict between two underprepared sides, just on the brink of escalation. Moreover, several quests make absolutely zero sense if you won the war before doing them, especially if you sided with the Stormcloaks.

All quests that mention or involve the war are affected, but a Stormcloak victory invalidates any quest involving The Thalmor, The East Empire Company, The Legion, The Penitus Oculatus and a number of significant NPCs, who simply have no reason to be in Skyrim anymore. This is particularly problematic for the Dark Brotherhood plot and parts of the main story. Not only is no explanation made to why these characters and factions are still permitted in Skyrim, they don't seem to be affected by the political shift whatsoever. Ulfric might be High King of an independent Skyrim but Elenwen is still throwing a party in the embassy she somehow still has? And she doesn't recognise ME, the champion of the Stormcloaks?? Thronar is still in a Thalmor prison that somehow hasn't been raided and shut down?

On the other hand, if you do choose to completely leave the civil war as to not break immersion, after a while you might be forgiven for forgetting about it entirely. It seems that post Helgan the war is on pause just waiting for you to get involved, OR until you reach the Season Unending quest where they decide to... Put the war on pause...

I've got a blog "Fixing Skyrim's Civil War," but the TLDR is; New Vegas delayed your direct involvement in the war by having the game slowly build up to one climactic battle, giving you lots of opportunities to influence the outcome in many dynamic ways that differed based on a faction reputation system and your play style, whereas Skyrim just has you win every battle til you win the war. It's as simple a choice of blue team or red team, and just about as fun.

One of my speculations is the future option of a Black Divine Dorian and I was like if Max was to perish wouldn't it be cool if Dorian could wield an impression of his soul . Not his full soul, just like a semi conscious all mana entity as a last resort in bad scenarios.

holy shit

thanks for explaining, was about to set laptop on fire for fear of witchcraft (still might, let's see where the evening takes me)

*touching his extremely defined six pack* who did this to you.....

*gently lifting a cup of water to his lips* it's going to be okay. *choking back tears* just a few more sips and then we'll get you a sandwich...

Confession: It's kind of a meme to say that Serana is sexy, or is better when modded to be sexy, but I legit don't see it. All of their dialog sounds like it comes out of a buddy-cop movie. Not that that's a bad thing - but I just don't see how some grand majority of the player base decided that *she* was the sexiest character in skyrim when I think there are other NPCs that seemed to have been borderline designed to be seen as the sexiest character.

fenris—for all his talk to hawke and isabela about wariness and staying alive and guard what you have, keep your head low, even dragons are eventually slain—says outright he would have duelled the arishok for isabela if he’d been in hawke’s place. like yeah the kid who gave up everything to fight for his family’s freedom is still in there. and btw he literally loves isabela
