A slow burn Teen Wolf rewrite Stiles Stilinski x OC fic, OC has a name, but I don’t include any identifying characteristics in the fic itself. That might change, and I’ll change tags accordingly.

Summary: Nina and Will Holmes have lived in Beacon Hills, California, for a little over a year by the start of their sophomore year of high school. In their time in the small town, Beacon Hills has always been quiet and boring. On the first day of school, the lower half of a Jane Doe is found in the woods; a Jane Doe that only Nina and Will seem to believe was murdered. Per their mother Imogen’s pleas, the twins agree to stick to the sidelines and let the police do their job, but it’s hard to do when every new development drags them closer and closer to the center of this case.

"rookie" couple scenarios

  • maybe they get a little too caught up in each other the first few weeks because they aren’t sure how to properly balance other responsibilities and a relationship, but once they realize that they’re lacking, they have a serious talk. 
  •  constantly getting date ideas from blogs online to test out their interests and get out there more
  •  asking friends, parents, and other trusted people that are in relationships for advice 
  •  ^ even for the smallest of things.
  •  always checking in with one another 
  •  “is it okay if i come over tonight? you’re sure? i don’t want to overstep...i know i was there yesterday...” 
  •  slowly but surely becoming more intimate with each other, knowing that it may take some practice before it can get better. 
  •  being over the moon that they’re in a successful relationship, posting about every date and sweet moment with their lover 
  •  the first fight freaks both of them out, as they’re scared they could have messed up everything going forward. 
  •  being unsure of how to dress for certain dates and panicking an hour before they’re supposed to meet
  •  making up white lies before hanging up on the phone to spare their feelings rather than flat-out telling them that they’d need the space.
  •  “i can’t wait to see where this takes us.” 
  •  “i’ve never done this before, sorry.” “don’t worry, me either..” 
  •  spending the night at the other’s house for the first time, and despite being told to be comfortable, they’re being very very careful 
  •  getting overly embarrassed when they accidentally say or do something that they normally wouldn’t, but their lover reassures them that it’s okay to show some flaws or to not be perfect all the time in a relationship. 
  •  “did you just fart?” “....no...” 
  •  when one gets sick and the other coddles them to no end
  •  when they finally are serious, they laugh as they look back and remember just how much of a mess they were at the start

  • pulling away and their faces are all flushed and they hear nothing but the sound of eachother trying to catch their own breaths
  • grabbing them by their waist and tugging them closer to deepen the kiss
  • ^ maybe it catches the other off guard and they let out a little noise of surprise (much to the amusement of their partner)
  • cupping their cheeks and giving them a peck on the nose or lips
  • smiling into the kiss (it's gonna do it for me every time)
  • or if they smirk a little whilst doing it oh my god
  • they're lying on the bed, one on top of the other just planting kisses alllllll over their face. all over.
  • just going at it and suddenly they're being picked up and placed on the counter (or whatever surface is near)
  • laughing out loud when one of them makes any noises accidentally
  • one is shorter and they just plant a soft kiss (or kisses) along the taller's jawline
  • gentle. forehead. kisses.
  • a first kiss: one just goes for it so fast that the other doesn't realize what's happening at first. then they're like "oh shit"
  • ^ but they slowly melt into it, let their eyes close, and kiss back
  • back hugging and the one in front just turns around to press their lips against the other's
  • those kisses that start off short and sweet, but things just naturally escalate
  • whispering words of admiration and love between a kiss
  • one is on the other's lap, holding their face between their hands, kissing them and instantly forgetting everything else in the room with them
  • those kisses that are just passionate from the start, they wrap their arms around their partner's neck or waist, being dipped back slightly.
  • after a heated session, they admire their flushed partner and softly place a peck on the cheek.
  • when they're holding hands and one just brings them up to their lips and places a kiss on their fingers.

Lucy was staring. She didn't mean to. She really didn't, but she couldn't get over the sight of Eddie Munson hunched over graph paper, tongue poking out from his lips as he drew out a new battle map in the afternoon sun.

He was just so...cute!

There were honestly a lot of things about Eddie that were cute. There was of course his hair. His excited mannerisms. The way his large eyes somehow grew wider when he smiled. Oh God she could go on for days about his smile. How she ever thought of him as intimidating seemed laughable now.

He took a pause, his eyes narrowing as he spun a pencil between his deft fingers.

It took everything in her to keep a dreamy sigh from escaping her lips. This little crush of hers was getting out of hand.

"No peaking Henderson," he warned, not even glancing up from his work.

She turned her gaze away, making a show of covering her eyes hoping to distract him from the blush on her cheeks.

Evidently it worked as he gave a light chuckle followed by the scratching on graphite on paper.

Maybe these study sessions were less advisable than she thought.

The first time I watched Teen Wolf, I didn’t like her character very much. After rewatching it a few times (and writing a fic about it) I realized a lot of the stuff I disliked about her were the same things I disliked about myself. I still think a lot of her writing was terrible, but she’s a character I see a lot of myself in. Some of the songs in here are just throwaway “vibe” songs, but here are some of the ones I put in intentionally.

1. The Archer - Taylor Swift: Okay, duh. She’s an archer. But I think this song actually captures a lot of her struggle in season 2 & 3.

2. Not Strong Enough - boygenius: Always an angel, never a god. You know she is always spinning out about things that haven’t happened (and things that have). 

3. Stay Soft - Mitski: Stay soft, get eaten. Only natural to harden up. Peak werewolf hunter vibes.

4. Trade Mistakes - P!atD: If I could trade mistakes for sheep, count me away before you sleep. A lot of people dislike Allison for not apologizing after what she did in season 2, but this is one of the things I actually like the writers not including. Especially when she says directly that simply apologizing isn’t enough for her. Considering Vices & Virtues was released the same year as season 1, and season 2 is supposed to take place that same year, I can see this song being played on repeat on her iPhone 4S or whatever was out.

5. Last Words of a Shooting Star - Mitski: Second Mitski song, even more relevant. This is my girl’s song up until and after the end. All of this turbulence wasn’t forecasted. And I am relieved that I left my room tidy, they’ll think of me kindly when they come for my things. 

It’s a short playlist, so more songs are intentional than not. I might go more into each one, but for now, these are the ones that I wanted to highlight.

Thinking About Eddie and Lucy Being Parents

I kinda went into it here, but I’ve been thinking about it more and it makes me happy, so I thought it would make you happy

  • First thing out of the way, they don’t have kids until they’re in their late 20s/early 30s
  • They officially get together in ‘86 and waste no time moving in together, but they don’t officially get married until ‘94/‘95
  • I’ve got a lot of reasons as to why which I won’t get into here, but bottom line Eddie did eventually propose in baggage claim (leave a comment if you’re interested to here more)
  • It’s about a year after they’re married that they have their first kid, Charlotte (Charlie) and Arthur (Artie) two years later
  • Lucy always liked the name Charlotte, and Eddie likes the idea of a girl named Charlie so it all worked out
  • I’m thinking they named Arthur after Lucy’s father since he passed away in my version of events
  • And now for random assortment of headcanons

  • Eddie doesn't need an excuse to want to sleep in and cuddle with Lucy until noon, but a storm raging outside will do in a pinch
  • If they don't have work or school going on that day, it's only their stomachs that finally get them out of bed
  • Slow kisses and love making under warm blankets as they talk about everything in nothing is the order of the day
  • Eventually though they do need to get up
  • Lucy is really the only one of them that can manage it and it's only after Eddie has lost his person sized hot water bag does he finally get up to follow her
  • He will then continue to snuggle her, while she makes something simple to eat, nuzzling into her neck and her hair
  • Lucy doesn't mind though and sinking into his arms while trying to stay focused enough to not burn down the apartment
  • They eat and, rather than go back to the bedroom, huddle up on the couch to watch movies and/or read to each other for the rest of the day
  • If, God forbid, they do have to go to the store to grab something, Lucy will volunteer, which inevitably leads to Eddie coming with her
  • What happens if she falls down a drain pipe? The streets are turning into rivers! No, buddy system or nothing
  • (Honestly Lucy and Eddie just like going to the store together, but he likes to be dramatic)
  • They strike out into the storm, grab what they need from the corner grocery store and run back to their apartment with wet feet and more or less dry hair
  • No matter what though, Eddie uses this as an excuse to wrap Lucy in a blanket and declare that she will die of cold if they don't get back to the couch and start cuddling for warmth ASAP
  • Lucy never fights him on this; yes, she enjoys being physically close to Eddie, but it also just makes her feel safe
  • She's not a fan of storms in general, made worse by her memories of the upside down
  • Eddie knows this and yes, he hates being cold and wants to be as warm as possible holding the person he loves the most, but he also knows that Lucy needs this too
  • She needs to know he's there and that they're okay; they're together and nothing bad is going to happen

Juliana took a careful sip of her drink as she watched Finn make his rounds about the room. 

He had finished his set and as per usual took the time to scrounge any extra coin he could from the patrons.  This took the form of charming smiles, flirtatious winks and occasionally lending an ear to anybody who cared to bend it. He was currently engaged in the latter, listening intently to an older man while occasionally scribbling something down in his journal.
