"will you kiss me on the porch in front of all your stupid friends?" is one of my favorite parts of any song ever. how the instrumentation soars in the final chorus. the joy and determination and desperation in taylor's voice. the PLEA. the HOPE. the FEAR. the perfect teenage-ness of it all. how it immediately conjures up the image of the shocked faces of a bunch of 16 year olds vs the smile on james' face as they are kissing betty. the fantasy fully transports you into james' head, who has spent WEEKS imagining just this. and you are there with them, feeling all the things they are feeling too. GOD this song!!!!!
