HIMYM modern reboot
@hawberries made an amazing post right here about the cast of a modern reboot and it wouldn't leave me alone until i casted it so i'm subjecting it to you too
Theodora Mosby -Lily Collins
Barney Stinson - Ryan Potter
Lily Aldrin - A J Michalka
Marshall Ericksen - James Hayden Rodriguez

Robin Scherbatsky - Natalia Dyer

how i met your mother used to be one of my absolute favourite shows and i’ve been rewatching it a lot lately… i want to know how much time has to pass before we’re allowed to have a progressive reboot of the show with all the cool non-chronological storytelling, but without the misogyny
Look, I would give all of my money (admittedly not a lot, but I'd still give all of it if I had more) for just a Neil Gaiman commentary. I'd sell my soul to add a cast commentary to the mix. The fact that the BBC doesn't understand this is... I don't even fucking know, because I know I'm not alone in this.
‘What kind of overalls does Mario wear?’
Yep, I laughed out loud
I love the “oh no” like he fucking knows he’s going to hear a shitty ass joke
this is the stupidest fucking joke in the world but i laugh every fucking time without fail
Further note: the OP/artist originally posted this February 15, 2018.
‘your failure to politicize this is only resulting in more cold bodies’

Carry On | Pride and Prejudice
Ok so I may be completely way off or too slow not to have realized this before, but Carry On and Pride and Prejudice parallels???
Let’s start with enemies to lovers.
“We were enemies.” “You were the centre of my universe,” I say. “Everything else spun around you.”
(Carry On, 506)
“Lizzie,” said he, “what are you doing? Are you out of your senses, to be accepting this man? Have you not always hated him?”
(Pride and Prejudice, 272)
Baz and Simon are already on opposite sides before they even meet on account of magical politics. The Old Families vs. the Mage.
Magicians don’t have kings and queens, but the Pitches are the nearest thing we have to a royal family—they probably would have crowned themselves at some point if they’d ever expected anyone to challenge their authority.
(Carry On, 82)
They want Watford to go back to the way it used to be—a place for only the most rich and the most powerful.
(Carry On, 83)
Which then grew into a difference of status on account of Baz’s ability to excel at magic and Simon’s struggle to catch up.
What did he say to Agatha? What did he promise? Maybe he didn’t have to say anything. Maybe he just had to be himself. Smarter than I am. Better looking. Wealthier. Fucking horsier—he could go to all her events and wear the right suit and the right shoes. He’d know which necktie went with which month of the year. If he weren’t a vampire, Baz’d be bloody perfect.
(Carry On, 145)
Lizzie and Darcy were again established as opposites purely based on social class.
but his friend Mr. Darcy soon drew the attention of the room by his fine, tall person, handsome features, noble mien, and the report which was in general circulation within five minutes after his entrance, of his having ten thousand a year.
(Pride and Prejudice, 8)
And later on, on their snap judgment of each other solely based on their first impressions.
His character was decided. He was the proudest, most disagreeable man in the world, and everybody hoped that he would never come there again.
(Pride and Prejudice, 8)
She is tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt me; I am in no humour at present to give consequence to young ladies who are slighted by other men.
(Pride and Prejudice, 9)
As a genderfluid person who is never a girl, stop assuming all genderfluid people move between being men and women. A lot of us do but also a lot of us don’t. We don’t all dramatically switch between sundresses and cargo shorts every day. There are more than two genders and some of us aren’t connected to the most popular ones at all.
Anyone can reblog this. Except for transphobes.
Washoe was a chimp who was taught sign language.
One of Washoe’s caretakers was pregnant and missed work for many weeks after she miscarried. Roger Fouts recounts the following situation:
“People who should be there for her and aren’t are often given the cold shoulder—her way of informing them that she’s miffed at them. Washoe greeted Kat [the caretaker] in just this way when she finally returned to work with the chimps. Kat made her apologies to Washoe, then decided to tell her the truth, signing “MY BABY DIED.” Washoe stared at her, then looked down. She finally peered into Kat’s eyes again and carefully signed “CRY”, touching her cheek and drawing her finger down the path a tear would make on a human (Chimpanzees don’t shed tears). Kat later remarked that one sign told her more about Washoe and her mental capabilities than all her longer, grammatically perfect sentences.“ [23]
Washoe herself lost two children; one baby died shortly after birth of a heart defect, the other baby, Sequoyah, died of a staph infection at two months of age.
more about Washoe:
after the death of her children, researchers were determined to have Washoe raise a baby and brought in a ten month chimpanzee named Loulis. one of the caretakers went to Washoe’s enclosure and signed “i have a baby for you.” Washoe became incredibly excited, yelling and swaying from side to side, signing “baby” over and over again. then she signed “my baby.”
the caretaker came back with Loulis, and Washoe’s excitement disappeared entirely. she refused to pick Loulis up, instead signing “baby” apathetically; it was clear that the baby she thought she was getting was going to be Sequoyah. eventually Washoe did approach Loulis, and by the next day the two had bonded and from then on she was utterly devoted to him.
*information shamelessly paraphrased from When Elephants Weep by Jeffrey Masson.
Even more interestingly, after Washoe and Loulis bonded, she started teaching him American Sign Language the same way that human parents teach their children language. It only took Loulis eight days to learn his first sign from Washoe, and aside from the seven that his human handlers learned around him, he learned to speak in ASL just as fluently as Washoe and was able to communicate with humans in the same way she could.
now if y'all don’t think this is the tightest shit you can get outta my face

Important:
If you live in the uk and have rabbits, get them vaccinated as soon as possible.
There is a highly infectious disease going around that kills rabbits in 24hrs with no symptoms and no cure, called RVHD2 - Rabbit viral haemmorhagic disease 2.
All three of our rabbits have just passed away within a week of each other.
This post was made 23rd june 2019, from south west uk.
Please boost if you can.
I’m not a rabbit person, but infectious diseases are pretty fuckin important.
You guys do realise why the Loki TV series and Thor: Love and Thunder are coming out in the same year right?
It's so they can film Thor's part in the series and loki's part in the film without people realising they're in each other shows/films!
