thinking about the whole “only queer ppl should play queer characters” thing and how Lee Pace got flack for playing a gay drag queen back in the day by his homophobic father. when he accepted the role he said “there was something about telling this story that was important to me” even before he was out / maybe even before he himself knew that he wasn’t straight….like maybe we should stop demanding that actors either out themselves or give up roles that speak to them, even if he hadn’t come out, the role meant something to him, it meant challenging his father’s attitude, and fuck if it didn’t have a profound impact on me as a young in-the-closet teen watching him perform it.

Because of shipping and distribution issues, and differences in how those things work between friendly local comic shops and book stores, if you preordered it from a book store it won't arrive until early December. But if you really want it now, it's in comics shops!

I figured it was part of the book publishing supply chain issues we're having this year. But what I'm confused about is how the digital distributors decided to delay the digital versions even though there's no supply chain issues in this format? Or are they trying to get the physical print preorders shipped and then release the digital?

They're definitely trying to get the print orders to books stores before releasing digital. They don't want to undercut potential sales by releasing the digital version "early," in comparison to the larger bulk order to book stores. Comic store distribution lines are different, and also move comparatively less product.

Did Hollywood forget that there is something called voice acting. That there’s a wide pool of people who even specialize in just voice acting. Like how many times are we going to let a famous celebrity just use their normal voice for a character. Where is the flavor in that.

i think not only do we have a moral obligation to preserve human life but also a moral obligation to maximize the pleasure of others and ourselves (provided it doesn’t hurt anyone)
