Whatever comes to mind | formerly ametrul she/they
his character design and its every detail are simply insane
*edit: there were comments saying how the yellow shoelaces (other boot) represent anti-racism, and I didn't want that to get lost in the notes

Ted Lasso 3.12 So Long, Farewell

i cant remember who it was but i saw an interview of the ted lasso cast being asked who that thought should get a spin-off and someone suggested Phoebe becoming a football player. i know it wont happen but oh my god this was the perfect way to set that up

one thing i love about ted lasso is the costuming of rebecca and rupert during games. rebecca is frequently seen in white and other light colours while rupert is always dressed like a sith lord. personally i see the characters are playing a game of chess with rebecca as the white queen and rupert as the black king. their revivally will only end with a check mate move. idk maybe its nothing but this show pays so much attention to detail i figure its gotta be intentional

Bex divorces Rupert and takes West Ham. Rebecca takes her under her wing and they girlboss it having boozy brunches with Keeley. All the wives of the horrible owners of the other clubs follow suit. Divorce settlements eat man. Women inherit the Premier League.

His father’s hand is tight around Steve’s wrist as he raises their arms into the air. Steve has been sweating through his robes for hours now; his hair is singed from where he was too late diving out of the way of a dragon’s attack; Robin is in the infirmary for a nasty burn the size of a plank of wood. So you can hardly blame him for the minute flinch he makes as the crowd rouses in a frenzied cheer.

Steve’s father’s hand tightens, and Steve knows he’s felt it. Isn’t it ironic that despite the plague of dragon attacks they’ve been facing, Steve is more afraid of his father?

“My son,” says Richard Harrington. This is apparently enough for the crowd to start cheering again.

Steve is practically vibrating. The stress of everything that’s happened today is quickly catching up with him, and the stress of what’s to come is furthering his anxiety.

“Thanks to him, our village is safe once again,” he continues. No, thinks Steve bitterly, thanks to Robin. But of course Chief Harrington would never thank a woman, much less an eighteen year old girl. Robin (stupid, brave, genius Robin) had figured it out well before anyone else had.

“They’re approaching from the North!” she’d said, and then started to clamber up onto one of the roofs. Steve tried to grab her by her ankle but she was spry and unburdened after years of practice.

“Aim North! Aim North!” she shouted.

No one would bother to care about what a girl was saying, though, so Steve turned around and yelled, “Aim North!” Then a dragon’s wing knocked Robin off the roof and into a pit of flames.

Steve is sick of getting credit for things he doesn’t deserve it for, especially when the person that does deserve it is in a drug-induced sleep in a hut several kilometers away. But the faster this is over, the faster he can go see her, so he swallows his guilt and smiles at the crowd.
