my entire life is just a test to see if i will commit suicide or homicide first
everyone get your rugged flannel shirts it's apocalypse time
link holding zelda’s torch for her without her needing to ask btw. if you even care.

Breath of the Wild: "Link, climb these mysterious towers to get a better view of the surrounding lands."
Tears of the Kingdom: "Link, we're gonna fire you out of this cannon like the god damn Apollo space shuttle, try and get a couple pictures before you pass out."
"Link is basically unrecognised like Tony Hawk" is WAY funnier when you realise his face is plastered on hundreds of posters both from people who want to find him and a cult that is utterly obsessed with him

THIS IS SO FUCKING CUTE OHMYGODDDDD
I don’t hate Yona. She’s sweet, her horns are cute, I do think she’s a bit too blinding of a green and resembles Muzu too much, but I just… don’t think she makes sense. By that I mean, sure- arranged marriages are a thing royalty does.
However.
Mipha was the Crown Princess originally. Dorephan did not put her in an arranged betrothal, and did not force her to marry a royal from another domain. Instead, he whole heartedly supported her decision to marry a Hylian- aka, Link. Based on this alone, he does not seem to be the type of ruler, nonetheless father, to make his children marry someone they do not love.
Remember what Mipha said in the first game? After you freed her from the Divine Beast?
“I want you to know, I have always followed my heart.”
Dorephan actually encourages this of his children. He praises Sidon for following his and bringing Link to the domain, for going out of his way to help their people. He is a wise king, but a loving father, and has managed to combine the two traits of his beautifully. He encourages his children to follow their hearts, while also making sure to raise them into the royals they must be. He doesn’t force them into anything.
Which just… makes this even wilder to me???
Based on one of the replaced stone monuments, Sidon viewed Yona as a big sister- holding her in a similar light as Mipha. Dorephan announcing Sidon is now engaged to her, without even asking for his consent, is just… kind of icky, especially since he’s marrying someone he viewed as a sibling. It also doesn’t make sense given Dorephan’s character.
Again, I don’t hate Yona.
I think they solely added her in to rein in the Sidlink shippers (Don’t worry ya’ll, Sidon has two hands, one for Yona and one for Link, it’s fine. Look at that new statue. Proof) and to play on his trauma of losing Mipha.
This, however, could have just as easily been done with Dorephan… considering he was literally wounded by the sludge Like-Like. There was no actual logical story reason to give him a canon fiancée. Especially since Yona appeared out of nowhere as she wasn’t even hinted at in the original game.
Calling them *childhood friends* is kind of a lazy way to explain why she’s suddenly there.
Yona’s a cutie. But, again. Her character doesn’t make sense to me.
That said, she and my oc (who I’ve paired with Sidon) are going to be besties eventually, and she’s gonna give my girl some pointers on how to act as a royal while telling embarrassing childhood stories about Sidon.
