There are no Gods, only monsters and men.

I've decided to do some digging into making a little more dynamic DC character. Cassie is a Speedster by birth but was also chosen to have Kryptonian powers. She's a young teen who lives in a small town in North Dakota

She's given these abilities from a rogue Kryptonian scientist who's been living in her hometown for an extremely long time. He's been there long before Superman and has no clue that Krypton is destroyed. He faked his death on his servy mission so that he could live a simple life amongst the humans.

He did, however, collect and sell all types of Kryptonite to make his money.

He feels satisfied with his existence, but wishes to have a successor. He chooses a young teen girl who has displayed that all she wants to do in life is help people.

Cassie is a metahuman, Born with the gene that connects her to the Speed force and is extremely comfortable in how fast she is. The Kryptonian sits her down and explains everything before she agrees to take on the task. He then exposes her to Platinum Kryptonite, which gives her Kryptonian abilities.

After he has her leave, he later uses Gold Kryptonite on himself. Which... takes away his body's function to process sunlight..

He loses his abilities and later dies a fulfilled man.

Cassie struggles with her new abilities to the point where she's scared of her lack of control.

She soon catches the attention of a lot of entities. But with some fancy guess work from the Justice League, Cassie is captured by Batman and the Green Lantern before being taken to the Fortress of Solitude. She's contained by them....for now.
