Jumping spiders are good, and here is an incomplete list of reasons why, according to things my little girl Willow has done in the week I've had her:
- every time she sees my chandelier, she stops and stares up at it. It doesn't move, so I don't know what she thinks it is. Giant sky spider maybe.
- watches video games and TV. REALLY watches youtube videos of others jumping spiders.
- naps in sunbeams
- wants out onto hands just when the sun is shining
- waves her arms in the air like a small child when she wants "up" (and jumps up as soon as I put a finger within reach)
- ran away from her dinner after it turned toward her
- tippity taps everything with her little feets while exploring
- self soothes with her pedipalps, moving up and down rhythmically when she's nervous
- soft- feels like a down feather when walking on me
- politely tapped her dinner until it turned around, and then examined it by tipping her entire body to one side trying to see under the shield first to make sure it was dinner before she bit anything
- drinks water from a qtip and/or mist droplets on the wall
- pink-purple chelicerae:
