I was a mermaid in a past life

Gef (with a hard "G") she/her, Canadian, lesbian, seriously stop assuming I'm hetero, weird goddessian witchy creature idk my spirituality is a mess, TERFs/radfems/gender crits fuck off, six Capricorns in a trenchcoat and I don't even believe in astrology, header is mermaid lesbian pride flag

I would not mind so much that mass market tarot and oracle decks are getting more expensive because quality has improved, inflation, people need food etc.

But some decks are that expensive AND are obviously being made with AI (I see you Blue Angel and Rockpool).

I've seen some folks anxious over the number of spells you get in BG3 and I'm here to tell you that I'm doing just fine with a handful of spells. The rest are just kind of there.

Seriously, Shadowheart has two jobs: Guiding Bolt and Healing Word/Mass Healing Word (sometimes Fire Bolt).

My Druid spams Moonbeam most of the time. She just learned Sunbeam and I've been having a lot of fun with that.

Misty Step is just a good get the fuck out spell.

If I ever fight a celestial I will have a bad time but we'll figure something out.

So to sum up WotC's latest fuckup concerning their new giant themed book

Back during the creator's summit, WotC said this about LLM images

Now more recently, WotC was caught using blatantly LLM images for their new book, along with some category 10 classical Gygax racism and genocide endorsement

As outraged fans investigated, similarities were noticed between earlier concept art, which WAS done by real artists, and the LLM images

Now April Prime was only credited as a concept artist in the book (and not credited at all in that post), so what happened?

Enter Ilya Shkipin: an NFT shill, LLM enthusiast and overall waste of flesh. Ilya took credit for these LLM images, which as you've probably guessed now, were concept art that he stole from concept artists like April, ran through his plagiarism bots and claimed was his own work.

Now, you would think that WotC would admit their error and drop Ilya for this blatant theft of art and credit

And you'd be wrong

WotC not only refused to name or punish Ilya, but they're continuing to work with him and simply having him redo the LLM images he turned in for future printings of the book.

Sounds horrible enough? Here's the bonus round: CATEGORY 10 CLASSIC GYGAX RACISM AND GENOCIDE ENDORSEMENT

Yes, that is a group of people being referred to as an "infestation" to be exterminated. And you have to make sure you ethically put them all to the sword, lest they rise as an icy mummy called a Frostmourn. If the name Frostmourn sounds familiar, that's because it's one letter off from the World of Warcraft sword: Frostmourne. A difference small enough for ActiBlizzard, one of the few game companies worse than WotC at this point, to turn angry copyright lawyers loose in their direction.

And that about sums the whole clusterfuck up. Remember to drop 5e and pick up a ttrpg that doesn't suck, such as Pathfinder, Savage Worlds or Fate: Core

I'm going to, admittedly hesitantly, add on here.

I have reason to believe--and don't ask me why, because I can't adequately explain it--that that text was at least partially written by a tool developed by OpenAI. Enough that I can tell, at least.

I would love to be proven wrong.

Wow my favourite puzzle in video games: navigate a room with a path except the path is invisible. /s

My experience with the Baldur's Gate 3 companions so far as a lesbian:

The boys: hey can I interest you in a scene that could definitely lead to smooches and/or sex?

The girls: I trust you now here is my tragic backstory

And then I was called out for my lack of romantic entanglements by a skeleton man. Listen, I'm keeping my options open.

Maybe I'm being pessimistic but I feel like if we head to the githyanki creche and they aren't able to remove our tadpoles chances are they are going to immediately try and kill us.

So far the game lets you pursue various options and it's fine but I can't see the gith being cool with this.

Well, only one way to find out, I suppose.

I'm at the point where I can go beyond Early Access content.

I feel nervous. There's no 'thank you for playing' message to stop me this time. I can just....go.

Just had a very intense interaction between companions (don't worry they are making nice) and we're still in Act 1.

So far my strategy of "everyone be nice!" Is working, barely.

Gamers (TM) being pathetic again.

"There are no attractive women in BG3" wow sorry you have such poor taste.

Guy: I'm hunting a vampire spawn, his name is Astarion.

Astarion: *opens his mouth*

Me: no, you shut the fuck up

I didn't kill him, I'm sure it'll be fine. I'm a bit baffled that whoever hired him didn't give a description though.

I'm baffled that the ice cream thing I stole from Reddit has exploded.

If you ask me, the most "basic" ice cream flavours are chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry though.

The best is vanilla imo.

I have the pdf of Green Ronin's newest game Cthulhu Awakens! The premise is that mythos entities are real but the version of the mythos transcribed by H.P. Lovecraft is a lie (blaming minorities for the actions of alien entities is uncool).

The game uses the AGE system like in the Dragon Age TTRPG, Blue Rose 2e, etc. Instead of sanity and madness, the game tracks alienation (you start seeing things the way that mythos entities do, which is probably bad for you but can also bring knowledge and insight).

I'm also waiting for an actual book.

ETA: Hastur is a weird lightbulb man

Milo Livianus, a Chelaxian Hellknight in Pathfinder, recast as an Oath of Vengeance Paladin (chosen purely for the starting black and red outfit) he's really classic Oath of Devotion

"I am a student of death."

This is Iris. They are a weirdo and I love them.

If anyone's interested in a genuine copy of the Wandering Moon Tarot the creator has announced that she's selling what stock she has left and then the deck is going OOP and will not be printed again.

Playing Baldur's Gate 3 on Steam deck so far:

Gamepad controls are not bad although I need to stop pressing Y (end turn) when I want the radial menu

The graphics settings are pretty although I had to lower the texture settings because there was a weird shiny effect that was hurting my eyes.
