Hey Bellarke fam, this is specifically for all of you. A (very) few of you may have noticed my lack of interaction on here of late. My life is very mad (totally self-inflicted) right now and something's got to give. I have decided to become a mere voyeur on social media for now. This means that while I am still occasionally popping onto my platforms, I'm not engaging at all. To put it plainly, I need a timeout. For now, I'm focusing on what's outside, like walking with my family on weekends (as this picture shows).
I'll be back, and I'm not deactivating my account. Thank you to those of you who still think of me: @togetherkru @natassakar @carrieeve @ninappon @pendragaryen @okmcintyre @immortalpramheda and the rest who check in on Tuesdays. Much love to you all ❤️
I learned about the murder of Kitty Genovese in two separate psychology classes, at two separate universities. It was studied as an example of the “bystander effect”, which is a phenomenon that occurs when witnesses do not offer help to a victim when there are other people present.
I was told by my professors that Kitty Genovese was a 28-year-old unmarried woman who was attacked, raped, and brutally murdered on her way home from her shift as manager of a bar. I was told that numerous people witnessed the attack and her cries for help but didn’t do anything because they “assumed someone else would”. Nobody intervened until it was too late.
What I was not told was that Kitty Genovese was a lesbian who lived more or less openly with her partner in the Upper West Side and managed a gay bar.
Now… is it likely that people overheard Kitty’s cries for help and ignored them because they thought someone else would deal with it? Or, perhaps, did they ignore her because they knew she was a lesbian and just didn’t care?
Maybe that’s not the case. Maybe it was just a random attack. Maybe her neighbours didn’t know she was gay, or didn’t care.
But it’s a huge chunk of information to leave out about her in a supposedly scientific study of events, since her sexuality made her much more vulnerable to violent crimes than the average person. And it’s a dishonour to her memory.
RIP Kitty Genovese. Society may only remember you for how you died, but I will remember you for who who were.
this was one of the first lessons I had in psych too and we were never told about this either nor was it in any of the reading materials
I never knew this.
I also never knew this about Kitty Genovese, but I do know that, in fact, many of the dozen (not thirty-eight) people who witnessed some part of the attack (which took place after 3AM, on a chilly night in March when most people’s windows were closed) tried to help in some way.
One shouted out his window for the attacker to leave her alone, which did successfully scare the man off temporarily.
Another called the police but, seeing her still on her feet, said only that there had been a fight but the woman seemed to be okay.
And when Kitty Genovese was finally attacked in a vestibule where she couldn’t be seen from outside, Karl Ross, a neighbor, saw what was happening but was too frightened himself to go to her rescue–so he started calling other neighbors to ask what he should do. Eventually one of them told him to call the police, which he did, and the woman he called, Sophie Farrar, rushed out to help Kitty even though she didn’t know whether the attacker was gone.
Kitty Genovese died in the arms of a neighbor who tired to help and comfort her while they waited for the police and ambulance to arrive. Kitty was in fact still alive, although mortally wounded, when the ambulance reached the scene.
The man who saw the final stabbing? Who panicked and called other neighbors first instead of the police? The man who said, infamously, that he “didn’t want to get involved” because he was reluctant to turn to the police for help? He was thought to be gay himself. He was a friend of Kitty and Mary Ann’s. After being interviewed by the police he took a bottle of vodka to Mary Ann and sat with her, trying to comfort her.
So, no. I don’t think the evidence indicates that Kitty Genovese’s neighbors let her die because she was a lesbian, because Kitty Genovese’s neighbors tried to help.
(Also, going by the content of the murderer’s confession, it was indeed a random attack.)
how on EARTH was this “scientifically” studied but the details gotten so wrong and the wrong as hell conclusion published and taught in schools?!?!?! where were those scientists observation skills?! on vacation?!
How to take facts and turn them into an urban legend that gets taught in schools: Make a bad made-for-t.v.-movie about it, watch it, believe everything the movie says, annnnnnnd go! That’s how it gets taught as this supposed “scientific study.” Someone got fucking lazy.
Spread the real deal, kids.
A book about this, “No One Helped”: Kitty Genovese, New York City, and the Myth of Urban Apathy, won the Lambda Literary Award for LGBT Nonfiction this year! if anyone wants to check it out try your local library!
I want to add one crucial but telling detail: the story about the 38 witnesses didn’t come out of nowhere, it was handed to the New York Times City Editor by the Police Commissioner in order to distract said editor from asking unwelcome questions about a different case, and the story that was eventually written and which made headlines was almost entirely composed from police sources.
At the time, the NYPD was coming under quite a bit of criticism about rising crime rates and the seeming ineffectiveness of the police’s response to the problem. In the Kitty Genovese case, even though people did in fact call the police, it took about an hour for them to show up and the first detectives didn’t arrive until three hours later (at which point they mostly spent their time interrogating Kitty’s girlfriend about their relationship, because for “some reason” they considered her to be the most likely suspect for the murder. In fact, the police wouldn’t catch the actual killer until six days later when he was picked up for having a stolen TV in the trunk of his car, at which point he admitted to having committed a total of three murders). It’s not an accident that one of the things to come out of the Genovese case was the establishment of the 9-1-1 system, because at the time that the attack happened, you had to call the specific number of a particular police precinct and it was up to the duty sergeant on the desk to take action - which was usually to send someone out from the precinct to the address reported, because cops on foot patrol wouldn’t be outfitted with two-way radios for several years. It’s more than a little convenient that at a time when the NYPD is coming in for public scrutiny about its ability to do the basic job of responding to reports of crimes in a timely fashion, the Police Commissioner happens to hand the City Editor of the city’s most prominent newspaper a story which puts the blame for the slow response on the apathy and inaction of New Yorkers, neatly absolving the NYPD for its ridiculously poor performance in this case in particular and its response to the rise in crime in general.
It’s also quite telling that the New York Times ran with the story the way they did. It’s not like there weren’t people on the scene who said they had called the police, or that the basic facts about how many witnesses there were and what they had seen didn’t match the account that the commissioner had given. The writer the Times sent out chose not to include this information because “it would have ruined the story.“ The Times wanted to frame the story as a narrative about how the root of NYC’s problems was urban apathy and anomie - and the news organizations that picked up on the Times’ reporting and made the Kitty Genovese case a national and global story wanted to frame the story as proof that NYC was a dangerous urban jungle that deserved its decline because of the bad character of its residents. I think the takeaway from this case isn’t just about sloppy scientific research, it’s that you have to always consider how official narratives are used to assign blame to specific individuals and groups and absolve larger institutions of responsibility.
Hey Sunflowerkru !!
I didn't have a new picture and I don't have much news to give… The week went by very quickly, and in fact, I think I was still boiling the Covid because I was so tired. I'm really better since 2 days actually… Anyway, here's my face in front of my garden, which is getting more and more quivering. I'm very, very late in the 100 Rewatch, but I still watch my episodes at my own pace. And God knows I miss this show. It really had something extra… A little extra soul, which is due to the acting of the main actors, if you ask me. This cast was really golden.
I hope everyone is fine, and I'm tagging/sending extra love to :

Weather is bad again, so we're back to cat pics ;-) I've no idea how it's April already but yup, Easter is just around the corner. Hope you guys are having a good day.
Thanks for the tag, @togetherkru! Glad to hear you're doing better 😊 ditto on the rewatch, I'm trying to find a good moment to sit down and binge all thet I'm behind on but there's just no time! That show really was special.
@carrieeve I could look at pictures of your orange fluff ball all darn day 😍

How does anyone hate kids they are so funny I sold tickets to incredibles to this little girl and her mom and she’s like mom are we sitting next to each other and the moms like ya and the kid screamed YES so loud it broke my ears
The other day I was bringing an older gentleman up the hill in a golf cart and we drove past this huge YMCA group of kids like 100 kids and driving past the first chunk like 10 of them yelled out “let me on” in unison and then since I’m driving so slowly to be safe, halfway in some kid leaned up and said “do you play fortnite” and I told him I played a little and he just pointed and shouted “THIS GUY PLAYS FORTNITE” and then like 20 kids started talking to me all at once about fortnite
A kid asked me if I lived in the ambulance. I said yes.
The hero we deserve
When I was on register at Kohl’s a little girl came through with her grandma and she was so very excited to tell me the meaning of her name (I think it was like warrior of god) and she begged her grandma for her phone so she could google to find out what my name means too
i wear two spinner rings on one finger and one time at my last job a young girl (probably 6-8) said “your ring is very pretty” and when i showed her it was two rings she GASPED and said “does that mean you’re marrying two people?!”
I have this necklace with a mermaid on it that I wear to work a lot and I got asked by a kid if it gave me magic powers. I leaned in real close and told her in a low voice it gave me magical girl powers but it was a secret. She got this real serious look on her face and said to her mom “that lady has superpowers, don’t tell anyone or the government will take her away”.
The other day i had to give a speech at my school despite my horrific fear of public speaking and afterwards i had kid come up to me and say well done to me. It was so cute.
god I love tiny kids
there was a kid in one of our science camps and he spent the whole week in a lab coat and goggles screaming “CHEMICALS” at the top of his lungs. he wouldn’t even tell us his name for the first two days just screamed CHEMICALS instead.
I was watching these kids at church today and one of them screamed and threw a toy car into the wall and it broke and the other one looked over calmly and said “does your insurance cover that?”
I was taking the drink order for a family at work and I asked their kid what he wanted to drink and he just looked at me with a completely deadpan expression and said “vodka” and me and the parents just fucking lost it
kid I used to babysit asked why my lips were different (she was two), and when I told her that it was because I was wearing lipstick, she yelled, “MAYA, I WANT LIPITZ.”
I work in a school and every time I draw anything on the board (I am a terrible artist and usually resort to stick men), the kids will all go ‘I love your picture, that’s a great drawing Miss’. So blindly supportive.
One time my younger brother ordered a “non-alcoholic fanta” at a hotel bar and the bartender lost his shit and I was never the same man
When I was student teaching, I was taking my fourth graders back from lunch and noticed one little girl looking longingly at the playground, where the younger kids were having recess. She heaved a big sigh and said, “I used to be that free.”
oh my god little kids in the library are the BEST one time i was looking for a book and a little girl tried to help me cause we always help HER find the books she wants. sometimes when i’m helping them check out they’ll tell me about the books they’re getting. i know so much about dog man.
oh man! another hilarious thing kids in the library do! they will straight up TELL ON THEIR PARENTS!
mom: the book was like that when we checked it out
child, innocently confused: i thought (little brother) did that though?
dad: yes that’s our correct address and phone number
child, barely paying attention: we MOOOOVED!! :D
parent: we never checked that book out
child, trying to be helpful: yes we did, that’s the one we lost at grandma’s house, remember?
me, fighting laughter and trying to decide whether or not the enter the child’s testimony as official evidence or not
I know I’ve told this story on Tumblr before, but one of my favorite retail experiences was when I was stocking shelves once and dropped a couple of small plastic toys, and a little girl ZOOMED up, grabbed them, held them up to me, and when I thanked her, said “I’m closer to the floor, so it’s TEAMWORK! :D” and zoomed off back to her mom
I was telling a kindergarten class (4/5 year olds) that we’re hosting a book fair next week and they would need to ask their parents for money. One girl very excitedly told me she has “one money” in her piggy bank. Her classmate, vibrating with excitement, said, “I have TOO MUCH money! I have ten dollars!”
a little boy, maybe around 7, looked at our piano at the museum and asked me very politely, “why doesn’t it have all 88 keys?”
I googled it for him after the tour, because even I didn’t know how many keys a piano was meant to have, or why this one had fewer (earlier pianos were just Like That, seems to be the answer)
we love baby nerds in this house
a marathon route ran past my apartment this morning and from my window I heard a small child yell at the top of her lungs, utterly bewildered, “WHERE ARE THEY ALL GOING???”
Good evening Sunflowerkru !
just a quick message to celebrate spring and the primroses in my garden, and to tell you that I'm stuck at home by the Covid19… Honestly, it's crazy, I had escaped it until now and now, obviously, I'm caught…
Needless to say, I didn't really make any progress in the Rewatch of The 100, my head is exploding… I hope you are better than me and wish you all a great week ;-).

Hey Sunflowerkru!
It’s starting to warm up here, but there’s still a ton of snow to melt before we get any flowers, so here’s a fun one for any of you that watched HBO’s The Last of Us. This is the building where *Spoiler* died in episode 2. As you can see it’s absolutely nowhere near Boston… It’s on my daily commute 😂. There also definitely isn’t a massive American flag flying over it.
It’s actually pretty rare for big name productions to film anywhere near where I live (they usually stick to Toronto or Vancouver) so it’s been kind of cool to see recognizable streets and buildings on screen. Although it does make it a little harder to get immersed in the story when your brain keeps pointing out ‘that’s definitely not Wyoming’ lol
Anyways, if you haven’t checked out the show, I would 100% recommend. It will break your heart 100x over but it’s so so good.
Thanks for the tag @togetherkru! Oh no to finally catching Covid! I hope your symptoms are on the milder side and that you get over it quickly! For now, take some extra time to enjoy the beautiful spring flowers!

Spring is here, sunflowerkru!
@togetherkru I'm so sorry to hear you got covid, I hope you recover quickly! ❤️
@roguetwelve must be surreal to see one's daily commute on TV. And I wish you a quick spring, too!
@natassakar I feel you! On one hand, it's all beautiful again but om the other, I did not miss the seasonal headaches.
@togetherkru you got COVID after all this time, aaaaah no. I hope you get better soon. But thank you to you, and @natassakar and @carrieeve for the spring flowers. It's so strange to be in the southern hemisphere, with it taking longer to get light in the morning, getting darker earlier in the evening, and leaves falling ~ and you're all waking up to warmth. Lots of love to the Bellarke fam.
A bird explaining to a hedgehog crossing so it doesn’t die.
!!! ok but that’s legitimately what it’s doing!! That’s a corvid right there (looks like a hooded crow, to be precise), which means it’s intelligent enough to recognize, a) cars are dangerous and streets should be treated with a certain degree of caution, b) this car’s slowing down for them–cars do that sometimes–which means they’re not in imminent danger, so it doesn’t have to fly away just yet, c) that hedgehog’s still gonna get killed if it doesn’t MOVE, FAST (cars can change speed very quickly and the hedgehog’s still in the way), and almost certainly also d) if the bird does nothing it gets a free lunch.
Y’all, Y’ALL. This bird is consciously deciding to put itself in danger in order to save the life of a very stupid creature. A creature which, if the bird did nothing, could be free food.
i can’t - look if you follow me you know I have a thing for corvids, but this is - like!!! People are always saying “ah yes they have sub-human intelligence and don’t consider anything that isn’t immediately necessary for their own survival/pleasure,” but! Whether or not it can do philosophy, this crow is clearly demonstrating compassion. Even if it’s just the kind of compassion a toddler shows to a snail, a social creature that instinctively recognizes the potential for emotion in other beings, that’s still huge and cool and important and corvids!!! are! neat!!!
They’re incredibly smart! And kind!!!
They are the best. I honestly can say that I could not have picked four better guys to spend my years with. We’re very close. We’ve got each other’s backs as actors and as people. They’re all truly in it for the right reason – meaning the acting. They’re friendships that will last a lifetime. That’s very rare in this business, and extremely rare in a series. Everybody’s kind of grown up on the show. Plus, they really treat me with a lot of respect. They let me be the quarterback. They’re gracious about it. There’s nobody who’s prouder of them when I throw them the ball and they’re in the end zone with a touchdown. When I see a scene that they’re in and it just blows me away it makes me so extra proud. I go, ‘Oh, look how good he is. He’s so good. - Kathryn Morris.

(So they haven’t removed just Bellarke getting together from the 6x11 original draft.)
They literally looked at 6x11 and said “let’s remove all the good IMPORTANT scenes.” …and let’s give 4 minutes of the show time to “Ash’s” backstory.
(Thanks to @ohsupernaturalI on Twitter)
“In 1984, when Ruth Coker Burks was 25 and a young mother living in Arkansas, she would often visit a hospital to care for a friend with cancer.
During one visit, Ruth noticed the nurses would draw straws, afraid to go into one room, its door sealed by a big red bag. She asked why and the nurses told her the patient had AIDS.
On a repeat visit, and seeing the big red bag on the door, Ruth decided to disregard the warnings and sneaked into the room.
In the bed was a skeletal young man, who told Ruth he wanted to see his mother before he died. She left the room and told the nurses, who said, “Honey, his mother’s not coming. He’s been here six weeks. Nobody’s coming!”
Ruth called his mother anyway, who refused to come visit her son, who she described as a “sinner” and already dead to her, and that she wouldn’t even claim his body when he died.
“I went back in his room and when I walked in, he said, “Oh, momma. I knew you’d come”, and then he lifted his hand. And what was I going to do? So I took his hand. I said, “I’m here, honey. I’m here”, Ruth later recounted.
Ruth pulled a chair to his bedside, talked to him
and held his hand until he died 13 hours later.
After finally finding a funeral home that would his body, and paying for the cremation out of her own savings, Ruth buried his ashes on her family’s large plot.
After this first encounter, Ruth cared for other patients. She would take them to appointments, obtain medications, apply for assistance, and even kept supplies of AIDS medications on hand, as some pharmacies would not carry them.
Ruth’s work soon became well known in the city and she received financial assistance from gay bars, “They would twirl up a drag show on Saturday night and here’d come the money. That’s how we’d buy medicine, that’s how we’d pay rent. If it hadn’t been for the drag queens, I don’t know what we would have done”, Ruth said.
Over the next 30 years, Ruth cared for over 1,000 people and buried more than 40 on her family’s plot most of whom were gay men whose families would not claim their ashes.
For this, Ruth has been nicknamed the ‘Cemetery Angel’.”— by Ra-Ey Saley
She’s 60 now, she’s still doing activist and advocacy work, and working on a memoir.
my favorite thing about this story is that ruth had inherited a large family graveyard and never really knew wtf she was going to do w dozens and dozens of empty grave plots but then the AIDS crisis happened and she realized what she could do with it
“I always wondered what I was going to do with a cemetery,” she said. “Who knew there’d come a time when people didn’t want to bury their children?”
(x)
Articles:
And a final quote from the first article:
She hasn’t been back to Files Cemetery since her stroke. While she made sure it was kept up back when she lived in Hot Springs, it appeared to have been let go a bit when the reporter visited in late December, some of the tombstones pushed over and broken, the snag of a dead oak left to rot among the graves. Even without knowing the story of the place, it might have been downright spooky if not for the constant stream of traffic cruising by at 10 miles an hour over the speed limit.
Before she’s gone, she said, she’d like to see a memorial erected in the cemetery. Something to tell people the story. A plaque. A stone. A listing of the names of the unremembered dead that lie there.
“Someday,” she said, “I’d love to get a monument that says: This is what happened. In 1984, it started. They just kept coming and coming. And they knew they would be remembered, loved and taken care of, and that someone would say a kind word over them when they died.”
Good evening to all Sunflowerkru! Here are a few blossoms from my garden to prove to you that spring is on its way ;-). I take the same pictures every year, but whatevever. Each time, I am always so amazed XD. And I'm absolutely sorry but my life is so complicated right now that I couldn't find the time on Sunday to do the rewatch episode 12 of season 1 with all of you. Even tomorrow I don't think I can do it…. I'll catch up at the end of the week...But I love seeing your gifs and comments, so get to it!

Happy Tuesday, fam! 🌻
@togetherkru a great big hug to you, love! I hope you'll feel better soon. Your photos are beautiful as always, the coming spring seems lovely.
Some first signs of spring are here already, too! I managed to take a photo of a rose bush. Admittedly, it's not a very good one as the wind started to pick up, but look at that, there are buds! Things are growing!
Unfortunately, I didn't manage the live watch on Sunday but I will try my hardest to do the next one. I've got the next couple of days off, so that should help ;-)
Have a good day, everyone! 😊
Hellp a d greetings, kru! @togetherkru @carrieeve , thanks for the tag and the lovely photos!
You're worrying about being one episode behind- I'm 9 episodes behind now! I don't know if I'll ever manage to catch up. No complications in my case, just the fact I watched 14 films over 17 days that our main film festival lasted this time (they added a bonus week because there was so much interest and so many screenings were sold out. Add to that other shows and, TBH, I'm not that into rewatching the episodes themselves, especially since I know them almost by heart...I would however love to continue chatting with you all on Discord about season 1!
I don't have a garden, but spring is definitely here as you can see from this pic if a tree near my building that I took about a week ago.
And as slways, here are some pics of my pets - this time the focus is on Spock. My little kitten is a big boy now - almost a year old, and you can see that he's bigger than my 3 year old cat Mrvica and looks similar to my older tabby, Maza, who is almost 10 (Spock is still thinner though)
Good evening!
Just finished 'We Are Grounders part 2', and I tried to watch it with fresh eyes and that season finale was sooo good you guys! The dropship battle, the ark coming down and then the mountain men coming in there at the end. These were the good times!
It's always fun when you do a rewatch and you discover something new about a show. A couple of days ago I watched 'I Am Become Death' and realized I recognized one of the nameless delinquents: Manny Jacinto from The Good Place. This was probably a known fact that he was in the 100 but it was news to me lol. For those of you who are doing a rewatch, have you noticed something new this time around?
Thank you for the tags @togetherkru, @carrieeve and @travllingbunny. You guys already have spring creeping in 😍 we're still probably a month away before we can really start expecting the weather to turn for the better, even though some small spring flowers are poking their heads out of the ground. Stef, I hope you get an easier time with everything soon. If you ever need to unload, I'm a good listener and I'm here for you 😘 Ivana, love seeing your furry family :) I hope you watched some great films at the festival!

Hi Sunflowerkru! It's already tuesday ! Here I am again in the Paris area, after a few days in the center of France where I could see my son, whom I had not seen since Christmas. I can tell you that it was good to see him ! I'm taking care of my baby plants, I just repotted them, and some of them look a little bit bad, but they will probably get better soon. I'm going to rewatch a few episodes of The 100 and look forward to seeing your news and photos. This too makes me feel good every week !

Happy bfsn, sunflowerkru! Happy Tuesday 🌻
Guys, guys! I actually have a plant for you this week! My bff, for my birthday, gifted me this tiny little porcelain thingie with a small bundle of seeds and mulch to grow my own grass (it's called a Sprouting Friend, how cute is that!). It's been growing for the last two and a half weeks and look at what I've grown! I think it's on its last legs now but no matter. It's such a nice sight to see every day, when outside, the weather can't make its fricking mind about whether to stay a cold Winter or finally move on to Spring. It's been giving me a headache.
Another week has gone by and I finally (almost xD) caught up with the 100 rewatch. I'm looking forward to the lice watching of the finale, too. I'm gonna try my best to make it back home next Wednesday because I haven't watched that episode live since the last time I watched it live (in the fricking middle of the fricking night). I am so, so loving all the new content here on tumblr. Keep it coming, guys!
Thanks for the tag @togetherkru. Your tiny pots are beautiful 😍
Good evening friends!
Surprise surprise, I have yet another castle for you this week. This time it's Rosenborgs castle in Copenhagen, where I went to visit a friend over the weekend (the city, not the pictured building lol). This was my first visit to the city (except maybe passing through on my way to Legoland as a child) and I really liked the vibe of the place with its nice architecture, interesting shops and markets, friendly people and the cozy cafes on every corner. I could definitely imagine myself living there if it wasn't so far from my friends and family. In another life perhaps!
@togetherkru & @carrieeve, thanks for the tags! Stef, I'm glad you could fit in a trip into your busy schedule so you could see your son 😊 Karolina, what a cute little friend! I have a similar one, a panda, but I haven't tried it out yet. And I know what you mean with the weather. The snow is currently piling up outside and I'm so sick of it...
Hello @roguetwelve, @infp-with-all-the-feelings, @moreflowersthanweeds, @natassakar, @jeanie205, @igotbellarkeforthat, @pendragaryen, @heartbellamy, @bookwormforalways, @travllingbunny, @geekyogicheese, @okmcintyre and who have I forgotten this week?
Love to you all!
Hey Sunflowerkru,
It’s still cold. It’s still snowing. We probably won’t have any sign of spring for another month. So mentally I’m back at Sunset Point on Gili Trawangan. I haven’t been able to go on a tropical vacation in years and the way things are headed I probably won’t get to for at least a few more, so I guess I’m just stuck with memories… even if it’s a picture where I just fell on my butt.
@togetherkru yay plant babies! You’re definitely doing better than I would be
@carrieeve it’s so cute! If you gave it a haircut would it last longer? I honestly have no clue… I’m terrible with plants haha
@ninappon so many castles! I’m jealous of everyone in Europe that you have so much access to beautiful architecture. I hope you had a wonderful little escape to Denmark!
Hello, dear sunflowerkru. I'm not online very often anymore, but when i get here and it's a tuesday i always read your posts when you tagged me. Thank you for being such a constant in my life. You still ROCK, Blarkes! <3
Thank you for your tags, dearies. I'm using this opportunity to give you a little update on my behalf. My own life is a f...in' mess right now, so i don't want to talk about THAT today. BUT... And that is a HUGE BUT... There are SOME good news to tell you for once today! Finally some light at the end of the dark tunnel i'm feeling i stuck in since december...
My sister (you know, my little sister that was diagnosed with breast cancer right before christmas...) just had her first ultrasound scan since december. And after that she was sending me THIS today:
Translation: "Unfortunately, no new size information about my bastard (she calls her tumor that way) today. (<- I could've basically slapped her, for at first this message sounded SO bad in her words... >.< But then:) Because: He can no longer be adequately represented on the ultrasound image. From what used to be 5 cm to no longer clearly recognizable is a huge step in the right direction." !!!!!!!!!!!
When i read this message i was... i YELLED! I jumped around! THis is the first good news in MONTHS! THe chemotherapy (that is really taking a toll on her...) is WORKING! She's on a good way and knows now for certain, that ALL HER SUFFERING IS NOT IN VAIN! I know, it's not the end of the way, it probably never will be over for her bc she'd always have to be cautious in the future, BUT IT'S A REAL CHANCE! Oh god, i can't even begin to tell you how much this means to me, how important she is to me. I couldn't imagine a life without her in it. She's my best friend... I'm so moved right now i'm almost crying while typing this.
I am so sorry that i couldn't be around here more often. I didn't have the strength for that, or even for the The100-rewatch i was SO looking forward to. It's so sad but I had to put my priorities straight. I don't know if i'll be able to catch up or not. I think i'll rather do the rewatch at my own pace. Even when it'll take YEARS to do it. ;) I still love our delinquents very much. I don't want to be without them or their story.
Thank you for all your amazing edits, gif sets, metas and live-bloggings! My dash is so much more filled with The100-related things again, it makes me so happy! Thank you for all these awesome distractions! ;)
Lots of hugs and love and much fun with your watch-along of the S1 finale next week!

Ah @pendragaryen Anne that is amazing news ❤️ I love your sister's name for her ailment. I totally understand not being online much, and hope you are being kind to yourself.
@togetherkru it's lovely that you got to see your son ~ is this the accident prone one?😋
@carrieeve and @ninappon thank you for the plant and castle pictures. You know you see pictures of 'overseas' but it's not quite the same as someone's candid pictures. We have officially moved into autumn. Right now all that means is it's dark when I go to yoga in the morning and I always have a long-sleeved top with me.
Here's a picture of our dog Arrow ~ we inherited him from friends who emigrated to Wales and couldn't take him with. He's small but with a big personality.
Love to all Sunflowerkru xxx
