Keigo: Why aren't there friend pick up lines? Pick up lines to make friends like-
Keigo, to Ichigo: Yooo, that's a frickin' cool outfit! You know where it'd look better? On nobody else, 'cuz you're frickin' handsome!
Ichigo, turning to Uryu: Oi, be my friend or I'll set your whole family on fire.
Keigo, shook af: NOOO THAT'S NOT HOW YOU DO IT, ICHIGOOOOO!

Ok, I’ve been thinking about this part.

I know we all know how much Claire loves Jim. We’ve seen it, heard it, and love seeing her show how much she does. But after reading this a few times, I kept thinking how much they really showed it in Wizards (more moments that I guess went over my head in Wizards).

Jim’s said here during an interview, after wizards was released, that love and compassion were really more of the true elements in resurrecting Jim. But the fact that only one tear drop from Claire brought him back not only from the dead, but back to his normal self (after connecting with his soul in the shadow realm as well). There was that much love for Jim in only one of her tear drops.

This girl is seriously in love with this boy and it’s warming my heart so much🥺😭💜💙

And anyone who thinks that same love and connection, which reversed not only that potion but death as well, and which had only grown stronger since, can't or won't transcend time and space (something we have been shown as possible already) is fooling themselves. And yes I include myself in that, because I've had moments not really of doubt exactly, but fear and sadness for them. There is a spark there. We are shown there is a recognition, a feeling, a *noticing*, that did not exist originally. She fought across time and space to bring him back... that love will do the same again, for her.

blood being frequently described as having a "coppery smell" in fiction is kind of funny considering that there is a metallic component to blood and it's not copper

in fact if your blood smells or tastes like copper you probably have more urgent things to worry about than it being outside your body. it's probably better that it's not inside you anymore actually.

story where blood is described as smelling or tasting "coppery" and it's actually early foreshadowing that all the characters are suffering from heavy metal poisoning

I like how the entire lord of the rings world is build upon different cultures and races… the story being about evil and corruption, with fires and volcanoes and violence… meanwhile the hobbits’ sole mission in life is just to eat as much food and get as high as possible until they die peacefully in their smoll holes in the shire..

Every 21st century piece of writing advice: Make us CARE about the character from page 1! Make us empathize with them! Make them interesting and different but still relatable and likable!

Every piece of classic literature: Hi. It's me. The bland everyman whose only purpose is to tell you this story. I have no actual personality. Here's the story of the time I encountered the worst people I ever met in my life. But first, ten pages of description about the place in which I met them.

Modern writing advice: Yes your protagonist should have flaws but ultimately we should root for them and like them from the beginning :)

Charles Dickens: Here is the worst ugliest rudest meanest nastiest bitch you’ve ever met in your life.

Modern writing advice: Make sure your POV character goes through a significant arc! Make sure they are changed by the narrative! Make sure they learn a lesson!

Narrators of every book of the 19th century: the lesson I learned is these people fucking suck, sayonara you freaks

Modern writing advice: It’s all about the character overcoming obstacles and learning! They learn their lesson so they can fix their mistakes and make good choices in the future! It’s a character arc! It’s called growth! Readers love it!
