My mission is to draw more than more. And if I can't, help others continue in their creating. So it is written, so it shall be drawn.

Jumping into 2022

Sci-Fi Day 2022 Yesterday was National Science Fiction Day, and this is a quick update on the second volume of the ACCESS GUIDE TO THE BLACK COMIC BOOK COMMUNITY. If you are unfamiliar with the Access Guide, together with Heavy Metal editor Joseph Illidge and Anyone Comics owner, Dimitrios Fragiskatos, we created a comprehensive listing of Black comic books/original graphic novels, publishers,…

LatinX in Space

Inclusion and diversity have been major components in the Star Trek Universe, showcasing that for a society to flourish it’s important to cross borders and build bridges instead of walls, to learn from our neighbors and share our stories.
And to celebrate that IDIC within Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 through October 15, let’s close out with a spotlight on a few of those characters,…

Rest in Power King

I pretty much said everything I could about Chadwick Boseman‘s unexpected passing yesterday in my piece for Black Sci-Fi.com.
I’ve spent the last two days rewatching his Marvel movies, his full costume intro in Civil War is a classic chase scene, the Battle of Wakanda in Infinity War hurt that much more when he faded out from the snap, and I feel like I’m only watching Endgameto see him come…

Adobe Creative Challenge Mission: Space

Adobe Creative Challenge Mission: Space
A collection of my work from the Adobe Illustrator Daily Creative Challenge, a two-week webinar to build Adobe Illustrator skills with 9 exercises that are fun and engaging.
From May 11 – May 22, this series of challenges was lead by instructor Andrew Hochradel aka HochDotCo and had an Outer Space theme, which is right up my alley.
If you would…

In these staycation days for two weeks, Monday through Friday, I was able to stream Adobe expert Paul Trani’s nine 30-minute lessons/challenge for the Adobe Illustrator Daily Creative Challenge. While I’ve used Illustrator for some time, of late I’ve mostly just used it to clean up projects that I started in Adobe Draw, so to start and finish a project completely in Illustrator was a nice callback to my younger days. What follows are my favorites pieces from the challenge, enjoy.

Star Trek - First Contact and the Mirror Universe

Happy First Contact Day!
April 5th is an important day because in another 43 years, according to Federation history Earth will make First Contact with an alien race in 2063. But as we celebrate First Contact Day let’s lets investigate if there’s more to this historic day, specifically its relationship to another universe.
The Mirror Universe is a Star Trekstaple that fans flock to again and…

Closing out 2019

With all the events I’ve been covering I have neglected updating this site, and with 2019 almost over I made the decision to give the site a new look along with updating my writings.
And don’t worry I’m still drawing, but for now, check out the articles I’ve posted this year at Writings on the Web, keep an eye out for more work in the near future, and please feel free to share.
