Dear Questioning People of All Ages

You don't have to have everything figured out. You don't need to know everything right this second. Just live, be yourself, let the chips fall where they may. Don't spend your life trying to figure out everything so much that you don't get a chance to live.

also if this happens a lot of trans people may end up homeless and the. the government turns the other eye- proves how much they hate us!!!!!

For non-trans people who think, “eh, that’s sad, but it only affects a tiny fraction of the people,” NO IT DOESN’T - this is laying the groundwork for discrimination against women by declaring that it’s okay to treat the sexes differently. If everyone has the same rights, it doesn’t matter what gender someone is.

They’re claiming that it’s not discrimination to fire a trans woman for wearing skirts, because it’s not discrimination to say that only women can wear skirts and men must wear pants. They want to claim that sex-specific policies aren’t innately a form of discrimination - meaning they want to be able to say, “women must wear skirts; men must wear pants; this is equivalent treatment;” they want to be able to say, “women must smile at the customers; men don’t need to (oh maybe we can say men have to shake hands with customers if they’re receptionists),” and so on.

To erode women’s rights, first they have to erase trans rights, because their whole hierarchy is based on WHITE MEN ON TOP and they can’t establish that if the definition of “men” keeps changing on them. If someone who used to be labeled a “man” is now a woman, or vice versa, their claim that men are just innately more suited to be in charge, falls apart.

FIGHT THIS FIGHT THIS FIGHT THIS.

You can’t do anything to affect the courts, but you can:

  • VOTE next Tuesday (or before, if you have that option);
  • Treat trans women as women, trans men as men;
  • If you misgender someone, apologize and make an effort to remember the correct term;
  • Call out mistreatment when you see it, including in jokes - “I don’t think that’s funny; could you explain it to me?”
  • Refuse to help with mistreatment if it’s part of your job - delay getting things done, lose paperwork, correct people’s genders on forms if they’ve been switched, and so on.

Ask me stuff

Send me some asks about LGBT topics you want to be educated on, my opinion, advice, or really whatever you want

The fact that nobody is talking about Secret’s new commercials pisses me off

This makes me so happy ☺️

Yesssss😭 I damn near cried

I LOVE THIS OMFG

YOOOOOOOOOOO THATS AMAZING!!!!!

Can someone help me understand I wanna cry to ..I feel something went over my head

The woman in the bathroom is trans and is scared that if she comes out of the stall the women that walked in will insult or harass her. but when she comes out they compliment her on her dress instead. The add ends with saying “stress tested for women.” It means Secret is including trans women in their definition of women.

I have reblogged this three times now, each one mentioning the fact that Secret not only included a trans woman, but that they /had the other women compliment her dress and treat her with respect/. I will reblog this every time I see it because it’s so important. More companies should involve trans people in their marketing - we do exist. Props to Secret for getting in on this movement. It makes me really happy to see more of the trans community represented in daily television.

Reblog the shit out of this

We need more positive things like this!

Okay but I did cry

“You will be crying so hard on your bedroom floor, ripping at your skin and unable to catch your breathe. You won’t be able to fathom how you can possibly live in this body anymore. Why you were so miserable and how it could ever stop.”

There is no “safe way” to bind your chest. “Don’t wear a binder for more than eight hours a day,” “don’t sleep while binding” and “use a proper binder from Underworks or gc2b” are harm reduction tips, nothing more. Even if you do everything right if you bind consistently over long periods of time then you’re almost definitely going to fuck up your back a little and reduce your lung capacity.

Your mental health is a part of your health, too, and it’s OKAY if you have to make the need to reduce your daily dysphoria your #1 priority BUT everyone really needs to stop talking about binding as if it has no impact on the body if done correctly. It encourages people who don’t need to do it to do it anyway even though it could harm them and it implicitly blames those with binding related injuries for not just “doing it right.”

I'm about to order my first binder. I think I measured my chest wrong so I'm going with a small. I'm so excited.

HOW TO BUY A BINDER WITHOUT A CREDIT CARD

Step 1: Have a binder picked out and have a Paypal you can use.

Step 2: Buy a visa gift card that will cover the binder and shipping to wherever it is safe to have it shipped.

Step 3: Put binder into shopping cart and checkout with paypal.

Step 4: Input visa giftcard info as instructed, and input safe shipping address.

Step 5: Do a happy dance your binder will be in your hands before you know it!

I don’t know if this works for underworks but it 100% works for GC2B

PLEASE SIGNAL BOOST FOR ALL THOSE TRANSMASC PEOPLE WHI NEED BINDERS
