Sunset (John Deacon x Reader)
Summary: Reader and Deaky baby are at the beach with the rest of the group until night !
Warnings: Short ? I wrote this in like 20 minutes, sorry for the mistakes!
“C’mon babe, it’ll be fun !” You begged, sat on his lap, running a hand through his hair.
John was rubbing your thigh slowly as he let out a sigh, “I don’t know… People will recognize us and-”
“Ugh, if they do, I’ll throw sand in their eyes.” You said mockingly, knowing he was partly right.
You and John had been dating for few months now, and since he was often on tour, you wanted to enjoy his presence as much as you could. To do so, you wanted to have fun with him at home but also with the rest of the group by going out. You knew he showed his most beautiful smile when he was laughing with Roger and the others, even if he did with you, your heart melted every time you saw him being happy with his friends on concerts. You were kind of relieved that they could take his mind out of things when you weren’t by his sides.
“This gonna be fun, sweetheart. Sun, sand, water, games !” You clapped your hands just by thinking about it. “It’ll be fun, I promise !”
Your boyfriend wondered a moment, taking a look at your features, how you smiled, your laugh, your lips moving when you talked, your eyes filled with love of life. You were so gorgeous, he couldn’t say no.
“Okay…” He said, giving up. “As long as we’re together.” He kissed you, and you answered the contact with a smile.
“Great !” You squealed as you withdrew from his touch. “Get ready, I’ll call the boys.”
“Yes !” You pulled him out the couch, “Let’s go, gotta feel the sun on our skin !”
A few hours later, you both were ready to go. In the car, you let your hand waving in the air, mimicking waves as the ocean scenery unrolled before your eyes. John had a hand on your thigh, while the other one was on the wheel. You were so happy right now, you turned to him and gave him a peck the cheek, making him grin.
Eventually, you reunited with the band and their girlfriends, and sought a place to sit down and enjoy the day. You were leading the group, hesitating between spots here and there, weighing up the pros and cons, biting your lower lip thoughtfully.
“Did we have to go to the sea ? I mean…” Roger mumbled, trying to rub out the sand on his ankles.
“Of course we have !” You stated sharply, turning to face him. “Beach is a free gift from mother nature, and we shall not forget that, boy.” You continued your way, ignoring his words.
After a couple of minutes, you chose the perfect place to settle down. Freddie and Mary opened their parasols, Roger and Dominique unrolled their beach towels, Brian and Chrissy were already walking towards the water, and you were stretching to join them. John was a bit reluctant, sitting on his towel, staring at your body.
“What are you waiting for, Deaky ?” Freddie asked, a hand over eyes, “Hurry up and catch her before she leaves !”
“She’s not- She’s not leaving me, she’s just getting in the water !” He frowned, making the singer laugh.
He wanted to join you but not now. He loved how you looked from where he was, how the water splashing on your skin made you shiver, how you giggled when Brian was throwing drops on your face. He was delighted.
“Come on john, join me !” You called him cheerfully, “Don’t leave me alone !”
“I’m not-… Ugh, what’s with them today ?” Your boyfriend groaned before standing up.
Finally together, you plunged your torso in the warm ocean, gasping a bit. He did the same, hugging you in the process like a child holding on his teddy bear, and burst into laughter. You were giggling too, being with him and seeing him that happy couldn’t make you feel any better.
The rest of the afternoon was dedicated to sunbathing, sandcastles, beach-volley, and anecdotes about Queen’s tours. A fire was in the middle of the circle you had formed, and you were in John’s arms, caressing his hands, listening to his voice while he was speaking. The sun was sinking more and more in the salt water, leaving magnificent orange clouds in the sky.
Brian and Christine were the first ones to leave, and they were soon joined by Freddie and Mary. Waving to you, they left, Roger and his girlfriend were now alone with John and you. Amazed by the scenery, you got up on your feet and neared the water. Your toes were grazing the sea, you felt a wave of peace running through your mind.
John’s eyes were glued to your silhouette, the suns rays were glowing on your shape. It was like a painting, made by a melancholic painter.
“She’s beautiful, uh ?” Roger whispered.
“Yes… I’m so lucky to have her…” The brown haired man said with amazement.
“Go to her” He forced him. “She needs you.”
And with those words, John swiftly stood up, and walked towards you. You heard his steps, and smiled, your hair flowing in the evening breeze. You opened your arms, allowing him into a tight hug.
“I love you…” He murmured, squeezing you hard against him as a tear rolled down his cheek “I love you so much…”
But you didn’t answer. You were just digging your nails in his skin, sniffing his unique smell.
John suddenly felt his grip loosening little by little, as you weren’t speaking.
“Love ?” His eyes met yours, but you weren’t with him anymore.
You were vanishing, slowly, melting, disappearing in his arms.
“Love !” He screamed again, trying to keep you with him.
But he couldn’t, because you were gone.
John were crying in his bed, screaming your name, biting the pillow, curled up. You were gone.
You died a month ago, during a plane crash, right after you had called him to tell him how much you wanted to go to the beach with him. You weren’t there, with him, in his bed. You were dead, you were gone, forever.
