If you ain’t rollin’ to go down on Tiamat, you aren’t aiming high enough.

What if a Bard tried to seduce Tiamat, but has to seduce each head in a twisted dating sim like scenario, but if they piss off any of the heads while doing so the bard gets eaten?

that… could be interesting?

except for everything about it.

i kinda hate it, tbh

that depends on like. house rules. is tiamat One Consciousness or Five?

also would tiamat be attracted to someone of your character’s gender

YOU NIQQAS WANNA LEARN ELVISH?! HERE YA GO!

This is legit. My husband, sitting across the room, looks over and says, “IS THAT SOMEONE SHOWING HOW TO CONVERT ENGLISH TO TENGWAR?  BECAUSE THAT’S THE WAY!”

Believe this man.  He owns atlases of Middle Earth, the complete history of Midle Earth (leatherbound), and has read the books at least 150 times.  Also: speaks elvish.

Yes.

I post stuff like this on twitter

More Forbidden Woods Park that nobody asked for

Feel free to use the park setting in any story or medium you want, just link back to this post and provide the proper credit.

Also, I ask that you keep the comedic tone and lighthearted outlook of the park authorities in your stories.

I want a podcast of this like welcome to nightvale but it’s a chipper park ranger

Nightvale is absolutely one of the inspirations for this. It’s a combination of WTNV and SCP Foundation.

Quick ideas for your desert campaign since you guys liked the ocean one

  • There is a little shrine that offers shade and a place to sit. A disembodied voice asks you about happenings in the world, what you’ve been up to, and so on. If you give them entertaining stories, or give valuable info, the voice will give advice on how to better survive in the area, or produce a small trinket.
  • A group of hooligans who get around the desert on shields and sails made of capes who ride the crazy winds.
  • A crazy looking old man is preaching about the end times. He might be on to something. The sun has slowly been taking longer to come up and longer to go down and keeps getting hotter. Its almost unbearable. Eventually it scorches the land and burns crops, small animals, and even starts small fires.
  • An old monsterous being has woken up deep below the earth. Its slowly digging its way out of the earth and a large sink hole has appeared where you think the mouth is.
  • A wizard is trying to bring back an old ocean that dried up long ago, and all the sea creatures with it.

Quick reminder to feel free to send me asks and questions about anything you might need!

Got a request for even more desert and sand stuff so here you go! Next post is going to be winter themed at request.

Under a few layers of sand you find a trap door. It opens up into an upside down pyramid dungeon filled with all sorts of traps and monsters.

Help a NPC out. He calls himself an “archaeologist”, but really just seems like a grave robber. When is it even okay to dig someone up? Help him dig up a site to do “research” or whatever.

An oasis thats actually just a mimic or four.

A crazy wizard is summoning storms and messing up

There is a lush green forest in the middle of nowhere. There is rain, animals,

What you think is a sphinx is actually a petrified creature.

these Live action Disney movies would be more interesting if at the end of the films Angelina Jolie's Maleficent came to the villain and said "I want to talk to you about Kingdom Hearts"

When I was in college, I wrote a paper on the real life applications of zombies.

Whether you love them or you’re sick of them, zombies as a pop cultural milestone are incredibly useful when it comes to disaster preparation. Organizations like the CDC and FEMA will run drills to train their staff using “zombie outbreak” scenarios. Parents of young children are encouraged to frame home disaster plans in terms of zombie attacks, because zombies are a fun Halloween thing, rather than something as real and scary as a tornado or a house fire.

But I notice it in other parts of my life.

I was looking into a setup for making my own rope, because reasons. When I was asked why I would even care about how to do something like that, I didn’t have to explain that it’s a neat skill to have and I like the idea of being a little more reliant on myself and a little less reliant on Target. I said “in case of zombies,” and the other person nodded like I’d said something perfectly reasonable.

Same goes when I’m making arguments for why I’d rather know how to repair my own clothes than buy new ones. I could talk about ecological waste and sweatshop labor and all that stuff, or I could say “yeah, but when the zombies come, I won’t be the one with holes in my socks.”

And yes, the person on the other side probably already knows a lot of that other stuff without me reiterating it for the thousandth time, but also, constantly talking about all the ways the world sucks is really not doing my mental health any favors. Sometimes it’s better to take a step back and pretend the scariest things we’re facing are a bunch of movie monsters that can be outpaced with a brisk walk.

You know what? This is actually really good advice.

I’m a broke student living on the 8th floor of a student housing place and I don’t know how often I wasn’t able to buy groceries because the elevator was broken. Or how often we didn’t have flowing water for a few hours, or I couldn’t wash my clothes because I didn’t have the change for the laundromat.

And a lot of times when there is one of those situations, I realise that I’m not completely prepared for that, because you never remember to prepare for everything. I’m not gonna go: i need to stack up on candles in case of a blackout. I need basic non-perishable food items so I can make easy meals if I’ve run out of money or don’t have the time/energy to go shopping. I need hand washing detergent in case I can’t use the laundromat for whatever reason. I need cash for when I can’t go to the atm. But the ‘zombie scenario’ includes all of that. A stack of water bottles? - Zombies. No-heat food stuff? - Zombies. Flashlight? - Zombies. Med kid? - Zombies. Extra batteries? - Zombies. Enough medicine for 3 days? - Zombies.

“Could I survive, alone, for 3-5 days in case of zombies?” is a pretty good question to prepare for emergencies but also to make sure there is something to fall back on in case you hit a rough patch (whether it’s a depressive episode, running out of money or just having a very stressful week).

I know that’s not what you were talking about, but I find it really helpful.

(I would also very much like to read your essay on the use of zombie)

This is exactly what I was talking about– I think you articulated it a whole lot better than I did.

I’m really glad you found it helpful!

Make fans cry with one line

Star Wars: Yes, anything!
Star Trek: I was and always will be your friend.
Firefly: I’m a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar!
Cabin Pressure: This is a happy ending… just not a fairy tale ending. Real happy endings are never simple.
Marvel: It wasn’t worth it.
Deponia: Let go.
White Collar: You’re free.
Critical Role: Where’s Vax?

so I got into grad school today with my shitty 2.8 gpa and the moral of the story is reblog those good luck posts for the love of god

okay so i just got my dream job??? a week after applying to it?? and now i’m thinking….maybe this is the good luck post

for all of you guys getting anxious about the environment and pollution

y’all deserve to hear the good news too, and yes i fact checked these.

  • 7 miles of habitat for bees will be planted in london
  • the biggest coal plant in north america has been converted to solar panels
  • roads in edinburgh will close once a month to help pollution
  • maine has banned styrofoam
  • new york city and los angeles have both made “green new deals”
  • The london marathon replaced 200,000 single use water bottles with seaweed water pods
  • the bees in notre dame survived the fire, and the roof could possibly built in a more eco-friendly way.
  • the population of flightless kakapos (a cool bird) is rising
  • the carbon emissions in the uk are the lowest they’ve been since 1998
  • Another large bee habitat (.5 mil acres) has been created
  • there is a robot that delivers young coral to help repopulate the great barrier reef
  • portugal plans to stop using plastic on fruit, vegetables, and bread by 2020
  • 106 new species of bees have been discovered in australia since 2010
  • a group of Sikhs plan to plant 1,000,000 trees as a gift to the earth
  • disney has made a mickey-shaped solar farm
  • Morgan freeman turned a 124 acre ranch in mississippi to a bee habitat
  • China plans on making a “forest city” to help clean up their air
  • An increasing amount of countries and states are beginning to ban single use plastics.
  • A couple replanted a whole forest in brazil (2.7 mil trees) in 20 years, and the animals have come back to live there
  • The hole in the ozone layer is repairing itself more each year
  • China plans on spending 360 billion dollars to improve renewable energy and has scrapped plans for coal powered plants that were going to be built.
  • A national park has been built in the amazon (3.3 mil acres in peru) to preserve the rainforest
  • Ireland and the uk have declared a climate emergency
  • The guy who played aquaman (jason momoa) has spent 31,000 dollars to help clean up plastic
  • South korea is now recycling 95% of food waste
  • There is a cleanup campaign being planned for mt. everest
  • Puerto rico wants to use all renewable energy by 2050 and is setting official goals for that
  • Some schools have special water bottle fill-up stations that encourage you to use refill and reuse plastic bottles rather than throwing them out after one use, these are becoming more common.
  • 9 endangered species are thought to make a comeback this year
  • 20 countries in africa are planning to make a “green wall” of trees and plants that will span the width of africa to stop desertification
  • recently, a lot of volunteers and organizations are planting a ton of trees.
  • Awareness about the environment and climate change is growing super fast right now among people and countries, which will only help us
  • Most pollution is caused by like 100 companies, but a few of those (like pepsi) are trying to cut down on that.

if this stuff keeps happening things will get even better, and the only thing stopping us really are those big companies who don’t want to pay the money to switch to more eco-friendly energy sources. i know the media tends to cause fear and stress about this stuff for a lot of people, but there really is hope.

easy things we can do:

  • Recycle
  • Plant gardens in your yard for bees if you can
  • Participate in community volunteer things that plant trees and gardens
  • Theres this search engine called ecosia that plants a tree for every 45 searches you make, it has almost 2 mil users.
  • Pick up trash if you see it when you’re at the beach or in nature
  • If you have a fair amount of money, consider donating some to trustworthy environmental organizations
  • Start using a reusable water bottle (like those ones at target) rather than relying on single use plastic ones.
  • Cut the plastic rings on plastic milk bottles. You know, the little spiky plastic ring near the cap. Birds get those things stuck around their neck and die, so cut them so that they can’t get stuck on a neck.
  • If you can afford it, get some of those reusable grocery bags and sue those. most grocery stores have them, and it saves a lot of waste.
  • use ecosia!! its a search engine that uses the income from searches to plant trees!
