btw most universities to my knowledge keep their reading lists behind access barriers (ie. only students enrolled at the institution on the course in question can see them) so i thought i’d just let you all know that durham university has all of its reading lists available online for free without needing student access. do with this information what you will.

*and with that i mean Christianity Class because wow i love being in the same region where the pope is /s ** which is the only reason i kept attending

I'm from lithuania, and technically, on paper, it was always optional in my school years (I graduated in 2017), but up until, like 5th grade parents had to sign in what you will take. Options were religion class (direct translation from lithuanian tikyba - faith) or ethics. The majority were signed up for faith classes. There were very few people signed in ethics class that, at least in my school they would still be put in religion class...

And it doesn't end there. When you enter gymnasium in last two years when you pick subjects you will be focusing on, if the time table clash with other classes, like say math, and you originally chose ethics, you will be put in religion class, because there were more groups of them at different times. You could then go and argue with the director or principal, but most of the time, you won't get your way.

This is all from my experience in my school, but I heard similar stories from others, especially smaller schools, in smaller cities. The situation is way better now.

I'm white and in my family we grow our chickens, so before we freeze them we clean them and we don't wash them again before cooking. However, we do wash store bought chicken.
