I never really grew up with SMOSH. I got into SMOSH and started watching it around the pandemic (i.e. mid/2021, and post Padilla’s 2017 leaving, Defy shutdown, Mythical ownership and such) and it was good fun. Still is. Then I read about its history. … WOW. I’ve seen and heard SMOSH’s name and referred to here and there very very very rarely but never cared to dig any deeper into it. And holy moly; what trials and tribulations both founders went through. Highs, lows, laughter, tears, departures, corporate nonsense, re-emergences, and so on. All of that… has now lead to THIS. THIS. This is the Phoenix rising from the ashes, leaving behind all the pain and darkness of the past, and flying straight into the sky towards hopefully what I think is a bright and beautiful future.

He’s been involved in a lot of legal battles because he makes a habit of stealing fucking tigers from billionaires in Thailand and helping them get rehabilitation to get back to the wild. Governments hate him, poachers hate him, but in my country this guy is the face of animal freedom.
