sci-fi plot: yeah and in this futuristic city he meets a woman–

producer: is she a stripper? is she a callgirl? does she get her tits out? is she a cop working undercover as a stripper? is she a sexy assassin who has sex with her victims and then kills them sexily? is she a robot stripper? is she a mystical being of pure energy who has no need for clothes and a great rack? is she a holographic beer advertisement?

It is important for EVERYONE to know how to help ANYONE. Not everyone can give them selves their medicine under every circumstance. Be educated, help out.

In the last year, i have gotten about five new violent allergies from foods i used to be able to eat. Next time i eat a fruit, my throat could close. I may not be able to inject myself. My boyfriend and i played with my trainer pen for like 30 minutes. He knows how to inject it. I know how. This is important.

just little things i love about halo

  • so many different alien races that aren’t just there for you to kill, but each with their own unique cultures and histories
  • these aliens also have dozens of characters who often get their own narrative so you see the story from their point of view, not just the human’s
  • oh did i mention also the humans are considered aliens? 
  • none of that generic “humans are the underdogs and need to prove themselves” narrative
  • just…AIs in general. though they’re not treated as people by most of the characters they’re given as much love and attention as everyone else by the writers (barring halo 5) 
  • mentally ill characters who aren’t defined by their mental illness (barring halo 5 (x2))
  • cortana’s entire character arc
  • thel’vadam’s entire character arc
  • you know what? every character arc
  • speaking of alien cultures, there’s a shitton of religion for both aliens and humans despite such a strong sci-fi setting, and without the “hurr durr religion is bad” nonsense (tho some of the religions are bad) 
  • men and women being treated equally. the only races with gender inequality are those who’re set back by the covenant’s toxic traditions, and in halo 5, you see thel'vadam working to break down those traditions by allowing sangheili women to become warriors (yay!) 
  • additionally, there’s very little romance and no sexualizing. even cortana, who’s friggin’ naked, is not defined in the least by her appearance
  • so, so, SO much lore. literally like, ten million years and more worth of lore. halo’s story has so much going on and all going way back
  • “forerunners are stupid” -  a literal trend
  • not just forerunners, though. everyone. everyone is stupid. the whole universe got fucked over because people were stupid. 
  • this was more 343 than bungie, but just the sheer amount of detail put in into the story. they could’ve easily just said “because it does” but instead went out of their way to create the science behind all of the story’s technologies. from space-travel to an AI’s exact function, everything was extremely thought-out.
  • the aesthetic - all of it. despite being a apocalypse-themed, there’s so much vibrant colors and breath-taking scenery, even the flood-based levels like cortana have a morbid beauty to them. also, giving forerunner architecture different aesthetics based off their creator’s factions was cool too. 
  • blur’s cinematics 
  • the fact halo’s extended universe branches out to all forms of media - books, multiple video game genres, anime, tv series, podcasts, comics, unfortunately still no movie but some day.
  • just…everything. even despite halo 5’s failings i found things i absolutely adored, and i think no matter what i will always love this stupid franchise so, so much.
