Penalties are wild and unpredictable but at the end of the day the US shouldn't have been in that situation.

first mistake was subbing kristie and kelley in for pks and not to play IN THE ACTUAL GAME
second mistake was taking alex off knowing that pks were on the horizon
third mistake was letting rapinoe anywhere near australia let alone that pitch
Also that was wild pressure to bring on Kristie for her world cup debut and have her first touch be a penalty.
So glad she scored it though
