How many times must I suffer reading BSD?

i hate seeing people describe könig as some little boy who needs at teddy to fall asleep, he was builled his entire childhood, that does stuff to people. it makes him more stronger and less likely to take criticism from people, he'll become strict and lash out on recruits for mistakes he's made before, just taking his insecurities out on others.

könig doesn't take shit, he can't, not after being bullied the majority of his teenager years. it reminds him of being weak, defenseless. he never wants to remain scrawny or anything. over exercising himself and using his height to his ability; scaring away the rookies and intimidating those who speak badly about him.

he's confident and cocky (listen to his voice lines), he knows what he's doing. he isn't afraid to put a bullet through someone's skull, he isn't shy. social anxiety ≠ shyness, he prefers sticking to his closer friends, instead of venturing out, people in public may gives him social anxiety due to the flashbacks of being judged, but he isn't shy, he hides the way he feels and masks his true feelings, pretending not to be bothered at the judgemental glares.

getting reminded of those years where he was always sobbing to his mother, cuddling into her yet never mentioning what happened at school. it's not something he enjoys thinking about. but when people look at him weirdly and hide their kids because of his height, it makes him feel like a monster, like bugs are crawling on his skin and he needs to protect himself from being judged.

he isn't gonna stutter over his words because he masks his social anxiety, he's good at it. könig hides the way he truly feels and puts on a more confident façade, just so people seem less scared of the tall man. he likes being scary, but only when fighting. never in public, he wants kids of his own, not for them to hide behind their mother's legs.

and like i said earlier, because of these insecurities, that means that he's more likely to put them onto others. he struggles with jealousy when he sees a sniper, that's his dream, what he was supposed to be. he'll be rougher on those who get what he wants, thinking it's unfair and gritting his teeth when they boast about their rank or awards. könig won't outwardly say this, he keeps it to himself and overworks himself, hoping to get the same rewards, he doesn't like feeling like less than he really is.

The Smith's Grove Sanitarium operated according to a schedule that was consistently set in motion without interruption. No authorized doctor employed by the sanitarium, however, would have foreseen this. Medical specialists thought they were completely familiar with Michael Myers' behavior. He was docile and kept to himself, despite being the most dangerous and threatening patient in the hospital. 

But if you left him alone, there was a chance he would treat you in a similar fashion. The sole exception would be if touching his masks or otherwise bothered him. Even being among other patients was something he never enjoyed.

Finally saw this movie! A solid 8/10!!

Alright I've rotated it in my mind for long enough now. I don't think Laura Lee dived into the shallow end of the pool on accident. I think she was trying to kill herself. Consider. This is an intelligent and athletic girl who teaches herself to fly a plane and qualifies for Nationals, yet walks right up to the "SHALLOW END" lettering and head-first plummets.

Before this we see her sitting all alone at the pool. Detached, dreamy, expressionless. The camera pans across the other VBS kids laughing and playing together. "The devil's after me / he's always throwing bricks" they chant. She is excluded from this. Then she stands up, walks to the clearly marked edge, and hits the bottom hard. Like Lottie's baptism, Laura Lee floats motionless in the water until she is yanked out, reborn. Girls in crisis, medicated with delusions. "No, Laura Lee. I didn't save you. He did." / "That's the Holy Spirit, you've been touched."

I don't think it's difficult to infer what her home life was like before the crash. I don't think it's difficult to imagine someone wanting to escape that. Someone feeling they can't live up to the expectations of their family, the church. Shamed and neglected in the name of God. This is not a new story. Her thoughts are policed to such an extent she legitimately worries thinking the word "cunt" caused them all to crash. Her teenage bedroom is comparatively bare save for a picture she kneels to pray to on the wall above her bed and the raggedy Leonard bear she's had forever. Even her sheets are plain and white, even her clothes are just an extension of the wallpaper. Suffocating. But we know when Laura Lee is trapped, she flies her way out. Even if it's a suicide mission.

She tries to kill herself and they tell her God saved her. Now she has to believe. Now she has to trust he will protect her. Now she knows he is listening. Now he has given her a sign. Now she learns to fly a plane to save her friends because she has faith God is watching and loves her and forgave her for her sin. Now her God fails her. He wasn't saving her he was only saving her for later. Now she is punished. Now she is dead. This time, she drowns in fire.

They deserved better!

I’m genuinely wondering how people are possibly coming away from Oppenheimer thinking it’s prowar/pro atom bomb. Like I have to imagine they just slept through the movie and typed up some bullshit just to get clicks. It’s so blatantly anti facist and HEAAAAVILY critical of the creation of the atom bomb and the US’s choice to bomb Japan 🤡 Absolutely wild.

(Also seeing anti semitism stir up in response which is. Just fucking awesome I guess 🙃)
