“You’re doing this on purpose just to annoy me.”
“Nooo,” Adam grinned. “Why would I do that?”
“It’s fun for you, I imagine. I mean, that’s the reason I like annoying you, so, one can only surmise.”
That got a laugh out of Adam. He reached for her hand and pulled her closer, bringing his other arm around her waist. “So you admit to annoying me for fun, hm?”
“I thought you already knew that. It’s incredibly entertaining,” Belle replied, poking him on the nose before dropping her hand on his shoulder.

I feel like Belle’s loneliness and anger at her situation would be fascinating to delve into. To me, Belle’s relative isolation could have made the prospect of losing her father, the ONLY person who has her back in the village, that much more terrifying to her. Not only when confronted by a monster holding him prisoner, but later when Gaston tries to have him admitted, and further when Gaston tries to hunt down the Beast. The themes of isolation and loss in both Belle and the Beast are very interesting indeed. I’ll go on a longer tangent at some point, but for now enjoy this Inside AU comic. I might render it, I might not.

NOTE: In the Inside AU, the Beast renames himself to Amie simply bc I think Adam is a shit name for him. Also, the characters are in their early 30s.
