My cousin is an asst psych professor. Her new boss brought up how male students sometimes challenge female professors. He asked how she handles that: she says ‘hold on: let me take notes’, grabs a pen & paper, and proceeds to take no notes. If he asks why, she says ‘Tell me something I don’t know & I’ll have something to write’; no student has tried twice. Her boss laughed and asked her to mention it at the next staff meeting.

If you need to bring up a topic you think he’ll argue against, ask him if he knows what it is, nod along as he tells you, and then build on the argument he’s just made for you by laying the base.
aka, I had a mansplaining coworker who used to trigger the shit out of my PTSD, so one day I asked him if he knew what “trigger” meant as a psychological term. He proceeded to explain my own panic attacks to me and ended up having a facial Oh Shit when I responded with “Yes, that’s exactly what happens to me when you do X, I’m glad you understand.”
It’s very hard to claim ignorance of the subject when you’ve just been so very proud of showing off your knowledge of that subject.

Really disheartening to see people starting to forget what started the anti-vaxxer movement.

Why people tend to write Pennywise to be so clueless about the world? C'mon, he’s been here longer than any of us, he knows whats up. He probably thaught us, primitives, languages, so he can bully us properly. Needless to say he knows about all the other stuff we invented, judging by the way he interracts and speaks to humans.
I like writing him aware but ignorant. Like he knows it, he understands it, but hes never done it himself because he finds it tedious or boring. Like cooking for example he absolutely knows how and why but he is a gaint impatient child and would rather just eat the cake batter than wait for the cake. Or for periods he absolutely knows what they are (he straight up taunts bev with hers constantly guys) and absolutely knows how the reproductive system works but does he care enough to know which kind of tampon to use? Not so much, not until you make him go get supplies and now suddenly hes cursing himself for not paying closer attention to this. I also like the idea that he has to catch up a bit on the 30 years he missed like suddenly smart phones are a thing and omg what are these tiny computers? Werent computers bigger? Oh! Snapchat filters how fun! He learns quickly though and adapts to anything new you show him very fast. Thats how i see it at least.

Meet Big Tom (14 we believe)
He passed away last week November 3rd at 4:55pm due to cancer and old age (he had FIV as well)
He started his life as a stray for about 7 years (vets estimated) he was a rough and tumble street cat until a sanctuary saved him from being put down by the shelter
You think hed be a rough cat but it was just the opposite, not only was he a blessing to me (when we got him 7 almost 8 years ago I was in a deep depression much like now) , he gave hugs and kisses, walked between your legs to beg for food and such.
I was devastated when he died last sunday, still am honestly, and I'll be damned if he's not remembered as the sweetest baby he was so here I am
Tom honestly wouldnt care that I'm doing this cause hes a cat but In his name I'm doing a project to raise money for the people who helped us get him
If you want to just donate to them out of the kindness of your heart thank you but if you need a little incentive well that's what I'm doing
