So a lot of people (including me) have pointed out similarities between Elsa and Isabela Madrigal (stress from having to keep up a perfect façade, a self-accepting song where they release their powers, being vaguely queercoded) but what I haven't seen anyone mention is that their names are basically the same.
Both 'Elsa' and 'Isabela' come from the Hebrew 'Elisheva' (which also gives us the name 'Elizabeth') - 'Isabela' is the Latinised version, and 'Elsa' is the Nordic version. Yet another thing these characters have in common!
i'm not the main character, i'm the emotionally repressed lesbian who doesn't know how to talk about her feelings, is 'cold' or hard to read but quietly kind, is forced into a societal role she feels trapped by, and who therefore longs for freedom.
