It's truly amazing how many complex issues of attraction, physical characteristics, kinks, et all can be boiled down to "don't be a creep, treat people as people instead of a collection of physical traits, don't hurt anyone, and you're good"

"Oh but they like to dress as a dog and go on walks on all fours/they want to be the size and shape of a municipal van/they think it'd be awesome to be more tied up in red tape than the legal rights to the Battletech franchise"

okay cool, are they respectful to one another? Do they not force things on others who aren't involved? Do they treat people as people, not objects? Yes?

Then fuck off and mind your own business.

The existence of kinks and fetishes isn’t the problem- all y’all have those, even if they’re tame as hell. The problem is objectification and infantilization, treating people as only a collection of the traits you find attractive and ignoring all else.

I don’t care what you’re into- some of the most wonderful people I know here are very explicit artists of some pretty wild subject matter- hell, even if I’m pretty tame by comparison, I AM a kink artist at times too- what matters is not what you do or what you like, but the content of your character. Everything else is noise.

Be weird, be kinky! But be kind.

talked about this earlier but like, shame aside, I kinda like how my art has slightly erotic undertones to it, like yeah that's a butt or boobs partially showing or yeah that pose is questionable and I think it's silly but also feels nice to express myself that way. growing up religiously I was forced to repress that side of myself but now I'm freeeeeeeeee (although I fight the guilt) I think queer people are allowed to be horny.
