hot take: will would not stop hannibal from going after alana.
see, will has a criteria for what he considers acceptable victims. and alana falls into that category. what's his philosophy? "if you play, you pay". will hates people who think they can skirt consequences for their actions while doing things that invite consequences. people like freddie, chilton, and bedelia. when he hears of chilton's burning, he caustically says that chilton wanted the world to know his face. chilton's sin was using other serial killers as cash grabs and as chances for fame, instead of focusing on lessening their actions or thinking about the victims. will also says bedelia would have it coming if hannibal ate her, because she ran away with hannibal, aided his actions, and profited off all of it without a scratch by twisting an abuse survivor's (miriam's) story to fit her own narrative.
so what's alana's sin? for one, she colluded with mason to find and torture hannibal - strike 1. second, she set hannibal free, and made him help her milk mason - meaning she got a free baby and inheritance in spite of her lawless actions. strike 2. third, she faked an escape in order to extrajudicially execute hannibal - knowing the consequences if he did actually escape. strike 3. that's 3 times alana hasn't paid for "playing", and since will pretty much is an apologist for hannibal's nature, as in he thinks a predator can't stop being a predator, and given how fluid his morality is, I think he would allow hannibal to go after her.
Bait - your lure is the one thing he wants
