I’m not saying it’s right, or even sane, but it’s all I’ve got left. So either help me or get out of the way! Batman Mask of the Phantasm (1993) dir. Bruce Timm & Eric Radomski

Thinking about "convinced they're a monster, terrified of getting close to people because they don't want to hurt them" x "you're not a monster to me but like I'm also a little into it when you get scary ngl" this sounds really specific but I've had several pairs of blorbos like that

Vulnerability issues x kinky bastard gets me every time. It's about the "I don't want to hurt you" and the "you won't ...........but I mean if you wanted to? 👀"

you know what trope is hilarious though? the rich kid "bad boy". i'm sorry but the idea of being cool and rebellious while having a trust fund and living in your parents' mansion is so fucking funny to me.

I feel insane because no one brings this up, like do people not see the contradiction here

“your rent should be a third of your income” well wouldn’t that be nice. wouldn’t it. lower the rent pussy

I’ve never been more than casually into Star Wars but there’s something about TIE fighters that endlessly delights me.  They’re just so shaped.

I see one of these bad boys and I’m like “Well he’s gonna fly around and shoot laser beams and make that yelling noise, I’ll bet”

X-wings: *happy little scissor planes*

TIE fighters:

Latest thing crawling through my mind on The English.

When Cornelia tells Eli 'there's a man trying to forget my son up on Powder River and I'm going there to remind him'. Um, so does this mean Cornelia and David corresponded at some point, because how else would he know they had a son at all or know to hire men to detain/kill her?

If so, I can only imagine Cornelia sending David some eccentric flowery-ass letter, telling him in polite fashion that she's sailing over to end him once and for all, it's all she dreams of, avenging the life he stole from her, the stars are aligning, she’s a Scorpio and revenge is her creed, and her voice is going to be the last thing he hears-

And David would write back: "That sounds absolutely thrilling, I'm a mad fan of that, it's the wildest thing you've ever said, fuckin’ arousing, that is, please do try, you bloody trollop, you know my address. I'm positively gagging for it. Cheers, luv. Yours truly, the Biggest D in the West.”

still thinking about how Eli and his horse were dancing in circles, kicking up a dust storm because he couldn’t decide whether to disappear or to turn right around in search of Cornelia. he always told her about how he didn’t believe in destiny, about how we’re only here for a moment—life’s a whole lot of aiming. one miss. but in that moment that all disappeared. i think if he hadn’t heard her voice he would have chosen her. even if it meant his life.

this narrative hits me so hard because it’s a love story that is destined for tragedy, which is only realized more clearly as the series progresses. it’s two people who have experienced their own unique and excruciatingly long lifetimes of pain/suffering who have finally found love within the other, something they never thought they’d ever find again. and then it’s all taken away. we only see this a few times in the series but I think Chaske Spencer is especially brilliant and cruel when he manages to make the same expression every time he embraces Cornelia, which is one of extreme pain. tormented by her embrace, and agony to be separated.

It’s been YEARS since I’ve produced any fanart, and it turns out that The English is the property that got my creative juices flowing again.  Darn you, Hugo Blick!!

Anyways, I was thinking about how Eli tells Cornelia that the scorpion “brings Spring”, and I just couldn’t get the image of her skirt flowing into a vast sea of prairie blooms out of my head.  She may be the reason Eli’s heart is revived, but, sadly, that doesn’t mean that they get the happy ending they deserve.
