not to mention the maximum amount of money a person can make on disability is just under 800$ a month. 800. not 1k but 800$. u will 100% need assistance to afford rent anywhere. and the amount only goes down the more roommates u have. u cannot afford to live anywhere in the country on disability alone. and if u try to earn more money by working u lose funds from ur disability. the more u work the less disability u have the more u need to work etc. its beyond predatory its impossible to live in this country
Lets not forget also that on disability you cannot get married OR have even a domestic partner of any kind (yes a live in person you date) without your disability being taken away on the logic that clearly that person is taking care of you. As if duel incomes isn't mandatory to survive. Putting a burden on anyone you want to love to take care of you out the gate. The best they get is a small tax break if you get married. Not only is this putting disabled people in a terrible position to be abused and controlled but its cutting off our ability to even find love if we wish. And survival? Forget it.
