Hopefully by the time her residency rolls around, she will have dropped her new single that’s in the works. She didn’t offer an official release date, but she did tease a little bit about the song’s special meaning. “I haven’t had enough time to do a full album, but this song is so powerful. It’s one of my favorite songs I’ve ever been the vessel for,” she said. “I love the songwriter, I love the message. It’s all-encompassing and really magical. It’s about inclusivity, connecting with people, taking that higher road, and being the best version of yourself.”
Bradley Jackson is a big Kelly Clarkson fan. And she’s about to discover one of the biggest perks of her new job.
In the first three episodes of The Morning Show, the Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston-led drama on Apple TV+, Witherspoon’s Bradley Jackson went from being a local news correspondent in West Virginia to the co-host of one of the top morning news shows in the country. Needless to say, she’s still wrapping her head around her new position.
But in episode 4, her new job will give her the chance to meet one of her favorite singers: Kelly Clarkson! EW has an exclusive first look at Clarkson’s time on the series, which sees Clarkson perform her song “Heat” on The Morning Show and even pull Bradley up on stage with her.
The Morning Show episodes drop Fridays on Apple TV+.
Thirsty Thursday! LIVE With Kelly Clarkson
In 2020, Kelly Clarkson will add one more job to her already packed resume: Las Vegas headliner.
The original American Idol will kick off Kelly Clarkson: Invincible, an extended run at Zappos Theater inside Planet Hollywood on April 1, 2020—on the same stage graced by Gwen Stefani, Shania Twain and Christina Aguilera.
The singer/talk-show-host/author/Voice judge/mom-of-two tells Billboard that since she is now based on the West Coast a recurring gig in the desert just makes sense.
“I have so many jobs going on right now and they all involve me being located in L.A. I love everything I’m doing, but the one thing that bummed me out was that I am so busy I’m not able to tour. Vegas was the perfect option for me to still be able to do shows and play music and see the fans,” she says.
Running until Sept. 26, 2020, and with performances in April, July, August and September, Clarkson, who has performed in Las Vegas for over 17 years and hosted the Billboard Music Awards in May at MGM Grand, has a deep affinity for one particular Vegas “icon.”
“All roads lead back to the Wheel of Fortune slot machines,” she says. “Seriously, the gratification I receive when I hear the machine yell “Wheel-Of-Fortune” is a level of bliss that only exists when babies laugh and puppy’s love. I think I may or may not have a problem.”
Aside from the bright lights of the big city, Clarkson, who has sold 25 million albums and 36 million singles, is excited to take advantage of the perks of a single-venue show.
“I’m able to do things with this show that I’ve never been able to carry out on the road,” she says. “We get to stay for a bit, see and hang with fans, and then you’re not having to travel every night to a different city which can be exhausting. I’m stoked to have a home away from home [in Vegas].
And while 16 dates is all she can squeak out of her schedule right now, she is optimistic about the potential that lies ahead.
“I’ve always loved performing in Las Vegas and the high energy of the crowds. Musicians from every genre of music, young and old, rookies and legends, it’s just become this fantastic city filled with artists from everywhere. So many of my musical idols have had, and still have, incredible residencies on the Strip, and I’m so excited to create my own,” Clarkson says. “We literally could only fit in the amount of dates that are available because my schedule is so crazy but I hope to have more dates in the future.”
Kelly & John will release a new version of Baby, It’s Cold Outside on November 8 for his Christmas album reissue ‘A Legendary Christmas‘

One new verse goes as follows, according to Vanity Fair:
Clarkson: “What will my friends think…”
Legend: “I think they should rejoice"
Clarkson: “…if I have one more drink?”
Legend: “It’s your body, and your choice.”
