He says in this that it was a kiss “between two teenagers” now in the book Kelly is quoted as being “nineteen or twenty” and I find it very convenient for Derek that he’s now saying she’s definitely nineteen so he can say it’s between two teenagers and not an underaged girl with an adult. Smooth move there Derek.

“But a kiss is just a kiss, and there’s nothing wrong, immoral or illegal about it” again this is probably why he’s now saying Kelly is nineteen instead of twenty. Plus, Kelly is an already out and confident lesbian while Amber is clearly not. In the kiss scene it’s clearly seen that Amber is uncomfortable yet Kelly keeps making advances; that to me would definitely be wrong and immoral, wouldn’t you say Derek?

“Maybe a three year gap is too much” this again can be debated as being three to four years. It’s not like they’re both in their twenties and are both sexually experienced adults; no, this is an inexperienced CHILD that many readers deem to be uncomfortable in this scene having sexual interaction with an ADULT that very nearly turns into sex. This scene is so predatory and so disgusting it amazes me that Derek is still trying to defend it and himself, wtf dude.

I mean it’s ridiculous, at least own up to your mistakes and say sorry for hurting your fans.
