Yes, when the original post is deleted from the server (not just the blog, but the Tumblr servers), there is no root post for notes to be added onto, and also no root post for time to be counted from, so it starts from zero. Most computer operating systems use Unix, which was launched in 1971 with t.he epoch date of midnight on January 1, 1970 as 1. Therefore zero is one second behind that date: December 31, 1969. Also, very unfortunately, this also means nobody except you and anyone you reblog it to will see this explanation, as you cannot open the notes to see comments when there are no notes.

The explanation is incorrect. 0 is January 1, 1970 00:00:00 UTC. The reason it's the day before is due to time zones. But yeah, no one gunna see this correction \o/

it's in the private use block. it will never ever have an official unicode assignment so individual renderers can do whatever the heck they want with it, i'm guessing tumblr has something to do that

Lots of custom fonts provide glyphs in the private use area for this purpose. This specifically is part of the Favorit woff2 font file that gets loaded.

Would someone please tell me which war crimes she committed? I don’t think anyone has ever mentioned them to me before and I’d really like to know.

Oh, that’s what makes this a TRULY piping hot take. It’s that she, as commander, placed a civilian into combat, which is classified as a war crime because of press ganging and child soldiers, along with the whole general thing about exposing civilians to harm. Like, yeah, generally speaking, inflicting that on someone is a war crime.

The trouble is, the civilian she placed in combat? Herself.

People are defending the new Pokémon game and saying stuff like "tons of games are released broken and unplayable" and it's like, yeah, it's bad for those games too.

Its really, really messed up that the price of video games keeps increasing while people are just accepting the fact that the actual quality of the product is decreasing.

No game has to be released unfinished and broken. The only reason this happens is due to corporate greed and these kinds of horrid business practices shouldn't be excused.

The price of games hasn't really been increasing; in fact, they're cheaper. Due to inflation, $50 in 2000 is $88 in 2022. But that still doesn't excuse any of this in the slightest.

We've been making these type of games (graphical-wise) for quite awhile. You'd think that modern tools and development techniques would help with quality and reduce a lot of effort but.. No, we get this.

They keep increasing release frequency, reducing funding and aren't sorry about it. People buy it anyway, so they don't need to make quality games they just need to make a higher quantity of bad games.
